Real men do pass out drunk in the afternoon sometimes however.

Don Stugots

When do people nap...?
They don't let me take one at work.
So I just sleep at night...

Besides it taking place during the day, what constitutes a nap? 45 minutes?

BlackSpider

again I ask when do people take naps...?
On weekends only, or are they strictly for the unemployed...?

Chuck was Delta Force and remembers the three rules of a good soldier:

1 Never stand when you can sit.

2 Never sit when you can lay down.

3 When you lay down, go to sleep.

disagree. real men can nap any time and any place. why is a real men's chair the recliner, if it's not manly to nap in said recliner? real men also get up before ten in the morning, hippy.

vintagejim

Come on. Nothing is better than having nothing better to do than sit in a comfortable chair when it's raining outside and not giving a damn about falling asleep.

I'm going the opposite way of this thread.

Napping is for men, sleeping is for women and children.
Let the women get there 8 hours. All I reallly need are naps.
I can go awhile without sleeping, but then give me an hour power nap, and I'm good to go.

I agree w/ the 1st part but not the 2nd.

If I have an opportunity to sleep later than 10 I'm doing it.

I can go awhile without sleeping, but then give me an hour power nap, and I'm good to go.

You could wind up at the bottom of a river doing things like that.

Don't you remember what happned to Kramer ?

Not everyone has a 9-5 job. Some people work different shifts in one week. When an afternoon shift is followed by a morning shift then a nap is a thing of beauty upon arriving home.

Exactly! I'll sometimes work almost 40 hrs on a weekend. A nap of any type is what keeps me going. I love that just "woke up/totally awake" feeling I have around 4 in the morning when I have a car full of drunks to drive home from the city. I napped two hrs with pay in the front seat of a town car waiting for a suit to finish his meeting.

Right on.

I have to go to work at 7 tonight.

I got up at 11 and will be napping from 3 to 6.

I guess I'm a pansy.

I, I, I.

True.

Alright, nap time.

I hope I don't wake up in pigtails and a dress.

Who I am I kidding?

It would be great to wake up already dressed for work.

Real men might not nap, but healthy men do.

A 20-30 minute nap at midday reboots your mind and nervous system. Companies that allow these naps have all experienced production growth. Their workers are more healthy and energetic, so it also saves millions in health related sick days.

But let's be realistic, most of us don't have time to nap. But I have a friend who works nights and has newborn twins. All he gets to sleep is naps here and there. He's a real man.

And I'd like to claim that a late afternoon nap on a hammock by the shore after a day at the beach is one of life's awesome pleasures.
