Can anyone recommend a router to me that can support multiple simultaneous connections? The one I just purchased crashes every time more than one lap top is using it.

Thanks

Ummm all routers support multiple connections, I think your problem either is with the hardware or the router's firmware. I'd return it. What type is it?

Absolutely, thats the whole point of a router.

they should all do this out of the box. there is a problem with interference somewhere. try to change the channel on the router, if not return it

Or your router is not assigning IP addresses properly. Or if it is, it isn't releasing IP Assignment leases. Or your IP range isn't assigned properly (meaning you can limit the amount of IP's assigned out at a given time).

Are you connecting via DHCP (where you are assigned a random IP each time), or do you have your IP info entered manually?

It's a Linksys.

I think it is set to randomly assign IP addresses. However, I am not sure how to set the number of connections allowed or change the IP address settings.

Thanks,

I returned the Linksys and bought a D-Link. It worked perfectly out of the box.
