So I had to take this class as part of management training for work. In the state of Pennsylvania if you serve food, from a high end resturant to a Sunday church dinner, at least one employee must be servsafe certified.
With the thousands of peeps here I was just wondering if anyone else has taken the class and test, and if it was mandatory in other states.
I thought the class was going to be a complete bore, but it was actually really informative. Of course the fact that if I didn't pass the test my company would charge me 150 dollars for the course did help my attention span.
I just got my score today, 91% baby!

It teaches about bacteria growth and how it spreads and under what conditions, proper ways to handle and serve cooked and uncooked food, cleaning and sanitition processes, correct temperature settings, shit like that. Its a one day 9 hour course with the test immediately after. I'd say I knew about 60% of the info already, but it was still interesting. I can't believe no one else had to take this. PA is pretty strict with it so I guess other states are more lax

It's a pretty standard requirement in most states.

Oh ok see I wasn't sure how it worked other places. The bacteria and virus shit was the real pain in the ass. Knowing what they all were and all the symptoms and what kills or doesn't kills them. That really worried me for the test but luckily the version I took didn't have as many questions about them.
