For some really weird reason, I started thinking about this while watching Raw and Steph's return.
The WWF is known for creating stars (and starlets) - they market the men and transform the women.
In fact, the only woman I can think of in the WWF who has stayed relatively the same since her debut in wrestling is Trish. (even though she's had work done, that was before she debuted in the WWF...) Everyone has gotten a degree of plastic surgery or change of makeup, save Stacy Keibler, who's just gotten sluttier. Lita herself has put on a lot of muscle to take up Chyna's role as the resident ass-kicker.
Now, before I get into this angle - I understand that what I'm proposing is completely degrading. But women get into wrestling knowing this full well, and it's no secret that plastic surgery and everything comes out of Vince's pocket.
Basically, we take a hot young prospect from OVW. A young man who's good on the mike, etc. We pair him up with a lithe brunette valet, like a dancer-type.
She's gotta be completely natural. This is key to the angle.
Over the course of the year, she changes from the sweet young brunette that we all loved to a completely slutted-out WWF chick, slowly getting more aggressive and heelish. I'm talking that first she has blonde highlights in her hair... then she goes all blonde - plastic surgery, maybe a small tattoo on the arm, whatever - culminating in her turning on the OVW prospect (who should be over already) and aligning with a heel.
It's basically the Rena Mero story played out in the ring, w/o someone taking a dump in the gym bag. It's soap-operaish, and personally, if the woman is willing to change herself for the role, it could be a huge angle that would be eaten up with a spoon, I think.
What do you guys think?
Zen
(and btw, I have full respect for women, it's just a CONCEPT for a story told in the ring... please don't flame me for being some sort of sicko, It's just a commentary on the kind of women WWF fans demand sometimes)
