While I met my wife while playing darts, I must say that pool is the king of the barroom for me. I like a relaxing afternoon of shooting pool with friends and sipping some cold beers. Very enjoyable and relaxing.

Got into a pool tourny at my favorite bar three weeks ago and took second place. Didn't think that was to bad considering every one else has been playing regular for the last six months since the bar started the tourny and I haven't touched a cue in two years. Then I went back the next week and took second again.

Where I live the entire town is pool and darts crazy with dozens and dozens of teams and tournaments every week all year long.

The pool league has an edge though - if you win state championships (or county, not sure), you go to Vegas to play. Room, board and flight paid for. I've had friends who have won a few times now. They come back looking like hell, but always had a great time.

Yeah, APA League.

I've been on and off teams for years. Never made it to Vegas on a team. Made a doubles and singles qualifier, but would have had to take time off and pay my own way to the regionals, and it wasn't worth it.

Usually as a team, you just have to win the league you're in to qualify for the "City Cup" (or district cup, etc) tournament. Win that, and you're off to Vegas.

I like them both, but pool was always better for meeting people. With darts, it's usually a league thing with people who already know each other. At a bar with quarter tables, you can just put you quarters up and play the stranger who won the last game. If he's running the table on you, you can spend your time hitting on his girlfriend.

I'd dominate all you bitches at air hockey. Since that's not an option tho, I'd go darts. It's easier than pool, which you need lots of practice and geometry skills to play or something. Plus I really really suck at pool. Oddly enough I play alot of pool.
