Search millions of photographs from the LIFE photo archive, stretching from the 1750s to today. Most were never published and are now available for the first time through the joint work of LIFE and Google.

Life Magazine was always known for it's stunning photography. I used to go to the library and go through the archives. Now millions of photos have been digitized and put into a Google search engine.

Check it out here. (http://images.google.com/hosted/life)

Cool! Apparently, tailors weren't very talented during Lincoln's administration. His coat is quite ill-fitting. Neato link! Thanks!

i was looking for one i remember, but cant find. it was a superimposed series of shots. the photographer had set up a stable tripod and aimed the camera at the sky. he took a pic of the moon (or sun?) at intervals during an eclipse. so the finished product showed several moons (or suns) in the sky all at different points of eclipse.
i might be wrong on some of the details, but im pretty sure that it was a time-laspe sort of thing

The 1930's poverty pictures were sobering.
