My son bought some old gaming systems recently at garage sales and we've been having a blast playing them. Some I don't even remember or I remember failing miserably
I really like Sega Dreamcast. Anybody still play any of these or other systems that didn't sell?

The Jaguar was hideous, I played it recently, it's as bad as Virtual Boy.
I have heard good things about the Dream Cast though.

At a time when all the other video games were 8 and 16 bit, Neo Geo put out an arcade quality console. $600 for the console, $200 each game.
But I still think the Dreamcast was a great system.

I seem to remember a game system from Bally way back aroud the Atari 2600 and ColecoVision days.
If I remember correctly it had a lot of games that were arcade games at the time.

I bought a 3DO a few months ago. It's not a terrible system (much better than the Sega CD) but it was essentially a 486 or a first generation Pentium in console form. For some reason the boxes for the games are as high as 2 CD jewel cases for no reason at all. It had some good games, but not much you couldn't have bought for your computer.

The funny thing is that when you look back the Master System was probably a better machine than the NES. The problem is that the NES beat them out 5:1 when it came to good games.

any links
im interested in reading that
i was torn at the time on whether or not to get the dreamcast or the ps one
i had the orig nes then the next system i had was sega genesis so i was gonna stay in the sega line, esp since dreamcast was trying to do the online thing
better game selection for the ps one is what led me to buying that system

It was called the Bally Astrocade. The article is here: http://gamingmuseum.classicgaming.gamespy.com/bally.html
And I vote for the Sega Saturn. Sega shot themselves in the foot by releasing the 32x and the CD before the Saturn. There were some pretty good games for the Saturn too...Iron Storm (A WWII RPG game) and Dragon Force.

This thing came out in 1975 or 1976. It was the first game to use cartridges, way ahead of it's time. It had absolutely crazy controllers. they twisted, tilted, pulled up, pushed down... crazy, and they broke all the time, but I played the crap out of it.

Sega Saturn had dead on ports of the Capcom arcade games at a time when Street Fighter 2 was king.

We had a Texas Intruments "computer" when I was a kid that had game cartridges sort of like a nintendo. Games like Munch-Man, Car Wars, Hunt the Wumpus, Adventure, A-Maz-Ing, and some others. I don't know if it failed but I have only seen one in my life.

When my cousin was 10 he was really in to his Gameboy Advance. I showed him my old Game Gear and he nearly died laughing. Not so much for the games but the fact it's as big as a brick and the 8 AA batteries it took would last an hour and a half.

I remember trading in my PS1 and all the games I had for the Dreamcast. NFL 2K was the best looking football at the time. Once I saw it at a friends house I had to get it. The online play was even pretty good. I also played Crazy Taxi and Resident Evil. We'll add the Xbox 360 to this list in 10 years. It will have been voted "Most Likely To Crap Out In Less Than A Year".

It failed. I had one when I was a kid too and they stopped making them after like 2 years so I could no longer get the TV adapter that for some reason I had to keep replacing.

Neo-Geo
No one can call the Neo-Geo a failure, despite the insane price tag when it launched, that system lasted forever. According to wikipedia it was only discontinued in 2004, so I think by far it's the longest lasting console. You just better like fighting games haha.
My vote is also for Dreamcast btw.

Not really sure because this didn't exactly fail, but it's certainly outdated, mine is the SNES. Although as far as ones that didn't really work out well, the Virtual Boy was my favorite. The console itself sucked but it was the coolest thing I'd ever seen or used back when I played it for the first time:
