My chick's phone has been getting a "Firmware Update. Please wait" for 5 days. I called in. Reboot, remove the battery, etc. Nothing. He checked the database, nothing.
"OK, Sir. No problem. I'll take care of this right away. Problem 1 resolved in 10 minutes.

OK, Len. While I have you on, I'd like to discuss my BlackBerry 8130. The case that came with the phone is scratching the hell out of it. It is only 3 months old, and it looks like shit. The case is a poorly constructed, Chinese P.O.S. I take great pride in the way I handle my electronics, and this won't do.
Please hold. I want to talk to the supervisor.
Ok, sir, I need to talk to somebody else since you got the phone from us, and not a store.
OK, Sir. It seems the issue is with BlackBerry and not with us. Let me put you right through to RIM.

The guy from RIM says, once we send the phone to Sprint, ATT, etc, it's not our problem. They handle warranty, defects, etc (basically, fuck off)

Transfer back to Sprint.
OK, I can send you a replacement screen, case and battery back for $45.

That is a bit of win.

With Sprint and their awful customer service I will usually just call Employee Services or some other "secret number" and say "Oh sorry, I got lost on the phone menu, I have no idea how I made it to you". But it is nice to talk to an American over some sod in India who has no idea what I am trying to get at.

Was it the holster for the blackberry that was scratching the screen? I got one of those latex like coverings for mine and I use the holster. It's a little tight at first but once it loosens up its fine. The covering seems to keep the front and screen from rubbing right against the inside of the holster.

I own an 8130 and love it but I had some minor issues with it. 8130's are. under full manufacturers warranty for 1 full year. If you bring it to the store you brought it at and tell them its broken or defected they'll blace it on the spot. Then you don't have to deal with some asshat over the phone and you get. Your new phone on the spot. I've gotten 3 so far.

My chick deals with all my customer service shit on the phone, which is weird because I deal with customers all day at my job, but when its my problem, with something I own, I'm an impatient motherfucker and just started cursing at the people. She is always poilte, but stern and gets shit done, while I rant and rave like a madman in the background.
