My chick's phone has been getting a "Firmware Update. Please wait" for 5 days. I called in. Reboot, remove the battery, etc. Nothing. He checked the database, nothing.
"OK, Sir. No problem. I'll take care of this right away. Problem 1 resolved in 10 minutes.
OK, Len. While I have you on, I'd like to discuss my BlackBerry 8130. The case that came with the phone is scratching the hell out of it. It is only 3 months old, and it looks like shit. The case is a poorly constructed, Chinese P.O.S. I take great pride in the way I handle my electronics, and this won't do.
Please hold. I want to talk to the supervisor.
Ok, sir, I need to talk to somebody else since you got the phone from us, and not a store.
OK, Sir. It seems the issue is with BlackBerry and not with us. Let me put you right through to RIM.
The guy from RIM says, once we send the phone to Sprint, ATT, etc, it's not our problem. They handle warranty, defects, etc (basically, fuck off)
Transfer back to Sprint.
OK, I can send you a replacement screen, case and battery back for $45.
