You must set the ad_network_ads.txt file to be writable (check file name as well).

Codec issue prob.

K-Lite Codec Pack (http://www.free-codecs.com/download/K_Lite_Codec_Pack.htm)

Install, and all ya need.

You could also try VLC Media PLayer (http://www.videolan.org/vlc/). Lot of people use it, swear by it, and it plays tons of different formats.
