OK technical Buddays, I need some assistance.
I have been looking all over for this info and am having trouble finding exactly what I am looking for. I need AV protection for a single Windows 2003 SB Server - I don't need client licenses and am looking for something cheap.
In other words, I need stand alone virus protection for the server and don't want to spend hundreds of dollars just because it is for a server. All it needs is basic AV and I can't find a single license offering for products I already know.
Any help?

You could run Clamwin, like the article in the previous post suggests. I used to run that on a few servers, it does its job.

Thanks budday.
I know most of those and have used them on client machines. However, most can't be used on a Server, or at least say they can't be used on a Server.
So, I need to know if anybody has had experience putting one of them on a Server and having it work or if there is a Server specific AV that is cheap and single license.

I have experience with it, it is just tough to find a single licensed one. They normally make you buy a block of five at minimum. I'm currently looking for you though.

Check out Clam. It can run on Windows 2003. I haven't installed it for a while, but I never had problems and it used to do its job. And is free.

It's legit, and has been around for a while. Only problem it looks like updates may be a prob, which is bad.

Your welcome. I was unsuccessful in finding something for ya, so lemme get in touch with a couple of my buddy Microsoft MVP's and get back to ya.
All my research led to minimum of 5-10 license purchases per software, adn that was a minimum of $250 or so.

Thanks; I have been finding the exact same thing everywhere I look. Most server protection incorporates client licenses and costs a couple of hundred bucks.
I might just have to break it to accounting that they just can't get off cheap (unless clam works out).

I got to be honest with you........
Looking at the clam page I posted, and the dates of updates......I actually feel uncomfortable that I posted it. I'm sorry.
But you are right. These things cost money, and there normally isn't a work around. Same with disaster recovery products.
