If there are any Buddays in or around St. Louis (Missouri) I highly recommend NICHE restaurant. My chick and I went there this Monday for her birthday, and it was fantastic. I heard about it from a guy I work with whose son helped him through the legal stuff. It is located in Soulard, near the brewery at 1831 Sidney Street. I recommend making reservations cause the chef has gotten a lot of publicity and his business is showing.
Here is the website, you can look at a menu or read some of the newspaper stuff:

We didn't do it, but they have a couple of ways to dine there. We just ordered off the menu, but, the tasting looks pretty cool. I think you get 5 courses and you have the option of adding a wine pairing with each course. They also have a 3 for $35 menu. On any given night they have a couple of options for starters, main course, and desert for 35 bucks.
I know there are a ton of good places on "The Hill" but this place is a little gem away from that. If anyone else has any other little, or even, well known restaurants around St. Louis I'd love to hear 'em
