how could there not be a celtics thread yet ?! at least i couldnt find, if one already exists merge please and feel free to call me names. throw a stick or two, knock yourself out.

anyway, i love perkins, he just got fouled slightly hard trying to dunk and just walked away scowling as rondo jumped in (because he knows perk). then perk yells "lets go motherfuckers" to the fans twice, hahaha. he is a little tightly wrapped but it makes for great entertainment.

must be great being a kid that is a celtics fan right now, like i was back in the early 80's. this team is a hell of a lot of fun to watch.

wow, how lame was that?

minnesota totally snubbed garnett on his first trip back there. they played some goofy sitcom music while he was introduced, gave his introduction no hype at all, just the opposite actually they introduced him like he some scrub off the bench nobody has ever heard of and that never played there. and then just rattled off the rest of the celtics starting lineup very fast.

wtf? garnett didnt ask to be traded, he busted his ass there. he was saying right up until the deal that he didnt want to go anywhere.

good question, i was thinking maybe he had but maybe it was that minnesota came here. they definitely said that it was his first trip back on the broadcast but maybe they got it wrong. gonna go check.

edit - morons, they played here last january and boston went and played there last february. maybe they meant to say taht it was his first trip there since winning a title but they didnt make it very clear, they said "his first time back, and this time he returns as an NBA champion". or something like that. or maybe im the moron. :P

It was his first time playing Minnesota.

Last year he was injured and either stayed on the bench or locker room for the game.

Umm...Timberwolves owner Glen Taylor has said publicly that he feels Garnett "tanked it" at the end of his Minnesota run. (http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=3300421)

"It was more like KG tanked it. I think the other guys still wanted to play. But it sure changed the team and didn't make us [as good]."

Getting swung at by Garnett and getting a technical for it makes you a bitch? Sorry, but that's idiotic.

bogut definitely was mauling garnett first, he deserved to get smacked. KG got a suspension and fine and didnt complain, not sure how that makes him a bitch.

i had heard the story about the owner thinking KG tanked it, i suppose its KG's fault that minnesota still sucks? maybe he got frustrated with the shitty teams they kept putting together and didnt feel like they were committed to winning, i dont know.

anyway i just remembered what the music was lol, pretty sure it was the dick van dyke show theme music. now that is just uncalled for! hehehe.

they snuck out of indy with a win, wasnt looking good for most of the night.

they just couldnt put it together for any length of time. great to salvage a win out of that, were they just saying this is now the best celtics start ever?

i was wondering last night if they are better right now than they were last season at this time, in a lot of ways i think they are, but i still miss posey.

this game is getting heated, atlanta is outhustling and being more physical than the celtics, they are being very physical with garnett and he just now seems to be really getting into it.

this could get explosive. nice little rivalry going here.

*edit* the hawks are really getting under the celts skin tonight, pierce and perk were just griping at each other, hopefully this one stays close and has a good finish.

The fix was in for sure..I hate LA, everybody is fuckin currupt..

Pau plays pretty quick for a 7 footer and he was sinking a lot of buckets in traffic..There's no way to defend that, just ask Garnett..

Side note: Rondo IS an Allstar wether he gets voted on this year or not..

Epschtein
12-25-2008, 04:22 PM
yeah the sloppiness made that a bit frustrating but LA was hyped for that game and it was still enjoyable. rondo was trying to do too much early but settled down, that stretch where he and KG hit each other with assists made me think they were turning things around.

just couldnt get the breaks down the stretch, i dont know what the final numbers were but it didnt seem like the celtics got many calls at all.

see ya in boston! im calling it right now, whenever LA comes out here next its gonna be blowout city.

underdog
12-25-2008, 04:42 PM
How could Ray Allen not touch the ball on like 95% of the trips down the court when Garnett and Pierce weren't out there? That was absolutely retarded. And the type of coaching that made a lot of people want Doc Rivers fired before (he's still a terrible fucking coach).

damn, we had our christmas party yesterday into last night so i was in bed by 11 and missed the whole game, just saw the highlights tho and while the warriors looked to be outhustling the celts in the 4th even more important is that they just couldnt miss.

i gotta go see what their shooting percentage was in the 4th.

still 2 more games to go out on the west coast and possibly without perk, its his shoulder that he had surgery on too that is injured again, that blows.

anyone catch the game? was it a typical off-night on a back-to-back that they probably still win if the other team doesnt get ridiculously hot in the 4th ?

Epschtein

yeah, pretty sloppy, im thinking maybe its fatigue. im not sure how many minutes guys were playing during the streak tho, i didnt think it was too crazy. KG was playing a lot of minutes tho i know that.

the loss to LA was understandable, you cant win every game and LA is damn good and it was in LA. even the loss to golden state wasnt bad because GS just got hot as fuck late in the game, they couldnt miss.

but these last several losses i just cant figure, way too many turnovers and terrible interior defense, especially after the first shot goes up.

gotta think its fatigue.

Moving House back to shooting guard was the best thing they could have done. Let Gabe handle the quarterbacking when Rondo is getting a break. Eddie needs to focus on getting open and the quick three.
