Thor or Hercules?

Thor is a God, Herc is half-God

Thor Wins

They are similar strength, but thor can fly and control lightning. and his hammer beats herc's club.

Thor can also teleport through dimensions

What about if Thor did not have the hammer?

makes no difference.
Thor is a god, Hercules is a demi-god. they're simply not in the same class.

Beta ray bill could beat hercules

Winner! Winner!

In Marvel continuity, Hercules was the son of Zeus and a mortal woman.

In actual Greek mythology, Heracles was the son of Zeus and a mortal woman.

And yes, it does annoy me that Marvel uses a character from Greek mythology, and uses his Roman mythology name.

They did tend to use Hercules as a bit of a buffoon as far as I remember, comic relief.
But in hand to hand, I would think they would be even

Depends upon what period of Marvel you're talking about. Initially, if Thor lost his hammer, 60 seconds later he turned into Donald Blake, the human form to which his father Odin "exiled" him to teach him humility. However, that hasn't been the case for awhile. In fact, until very recently, the Blake/Thor dichotomy didn't exist for a number of years. Currently, it does, but I don't think the 60 second limitation is currently in place.

In every fight they have had in recent continuity it's been pretty much a draw unless there are other conditions present like Herc being drunk or Thor being unable to use his hammer. On the merits of his carousing and boozing my vote goes towards the Lion of Olympus and the Drunkard of Earth: HERCULES!

Beta Ray Bill is the man! He could probably take on the Hulk and fight him to a draw

Ehhh, I'd say it was settled by parties who don't know enough comics history to settle it, but to come back with examples would only serve pigeonhole me into Comic Book Guy from the Simpsons. So on to the next fight...

Beta Ray Bill. He wins with ease. He was almost a match for Thor even before he gained the power of Mjolnir, so with it he would give the critical beatdown to Thor-Lite.

It was mentioned by you that they are not in the same class. It was also mentioned that since Herc is only half god he would lose. Then there's the dude who thought that Thor without his hammer is a human. Take your pick. I'm not talking about the world of mythological lore. I'm talking about Thor vs Herc in Marvel comics, where they have always been shown to be fairly equal as far as fighting skills and strength with Herc getting the duke in fighting skills due to his wrestling background. In terms of Marvel comics this isn't Captain Ultra vs Galactus. It's a little more evenly matched than it's being portrayed here.

I didn't mean to come off as a Marvel know it all but rereading my post sure made it look that way. I'm just looking back over all of the Thor/Hercules clashes over the years and they are on much more equal footing than has been represented so far here.
