We just had beef and broccoli, pork fried rice and egg drop soup. I bought enough soup so I can have enough of it for a few lunches this week. It's great with the house hot mustard.

I have given up on Chinese. If I'm going Asian I usually go Thai, and we love the Japanese too. I had pepper chicken the last time I had Chinese, which was 3 days ago, but before the it had been months.

I gotta go with Hot and Sour Soup - and steamed dumplings. Screw the entrees.
My rule - never, EVER any Chinese seafood. Its just gross and I normally love seafood.

Crab rangoon is always a must-have.
These days I'll go with chow mein (usually chicken) and skip adding the crispy noodles. I try to avoid getting fried stuff as part of the main dish.
I used to get steamed dishes almost every day for lunch when I was working at the office, but these days we'll order in maybe once every other week.

I usually just go with some sort of appetizer combo with pork fried rice, but every once in a while I'll get garlic chicken or pork.
And I eat it once or twice a week.

General Tso's chicken and fried rice. and eggrolls with house mustard.
That's what I have almost every time, along with some crab rangoon. I get it no more than 6 times a year. I like a lot of other Chinese foods, but I can never decide. I hate it. I look at the whole menu for like 10 minutes, and end up getting Tso's combo every time.

I love hot kung pao. If I'm looking for good hot Asian food, though, I prefer Korean. Dok Suni's in East Village ranks up there with some of the best food I have ever had.

You guys ever get Dim Sum? Now that's good Chinese food.
I dated a Taiwanese girl for a few years and her mom used to cook for us. It's amazing how different the real Chinese food is compared to the slop that we get at the take out places. Much more focused on vegetables, whole cooked fish, and meats in non thick syrup sauces. Everyone gets their own bowl of rice and the food is served in common dishes that everyone picks out of.
This is one of the vegetables they used a lot:

Hollow Heart, water spinach.. lots of names for it. I still buy it from the Asian supermarkets and cook it up with some garlic and soy sauce. Delicious stuff.

I am with you on Taiwanese food. "hollow heart vegetable", or kongxincai, in garlic sauce is the best.
