Is there anything that shows how far someone would have to walk to be able to hurn off eating certain foods?
Like, how many miles would you have to walk to burn off a Big Mac or a slice of pizza or whatever?

www.dailyplate.com (http://ronfez.net/forums/www.dailyplate.com,) gives you a negative calorie count for activities done
when i run full court for 2 Hours I burn 1200 caloires
I eat a lil bit more that day, I will use 2500 instead of 2000 Calories
walking doesn't burn that much off, i would jog, or play a sport that is easy for you

Edit: beat me by a minute, hippo. The site rocks.
I use the Daily Plate (http://www.thedailyplate.com/) for a lot of my calorie and dieting info. Not only does it have info for many many many food and drink products, it offers suggestions on what you can do to cut the calories of the meal. It will tell you how much exercise you need to burn it off also.
For instance. You stated McDonald's Big Mac (http://www.thedailyplate.com/nutrition-calories/food/mcdonalds/big-mac):
http://i175.photobucket.com/albums/w126/ragunax/bigmac.jpg
You could burn off the 540 calories from this Big Mac in a variety of ways:
Tae Bo - very vigorous for 28 minutes
Police Work - driving squad car for 247 minutes
Farming - forking bales of hay for 62 minutes
These are estimates based on a 145lb person. For more accurate information, tell us your weight.
Like Hippo said. Walking is nice, but if you mix in sprints for 40 seconds straight every couple of minutes it is much much better. If yo let your body get into a routine, it gets used to it. That is why you should mix up your cardio workout from time to time.

I had a friend who would send info like that around. It changes based on who you are and how intensely you exercise.
Personally, I like the calorie estimator at Discovery Health:
Activity Calorie Burn Rate Calculator (http://health.discovery.com/tools/calculators/activity/activity.html)
You can find your activity, change the intensity and explore other activities in addition to things we usually consider to be workouts.

i was never one to count calories, but i started to work out for the first time in my life in may
after a week or so, i would run and bust my ass on the treadmill or other machine, and look at the calories burned -- 150 or 200 for busting my ass ... a half hour of running negates a can of soda
it really affected my eating habits -- especially with calorie counts posted at fast food joints ... i can have all the cravings in the world, but if i catch the count -- i'll bail

Aren't those supposed to keep up with the calories you've burned?

Calorieking.com lists all types of food - even fast food. In addition, it shows how long it would take to walk, run, jog, swim, cycle, etc. to burn said food. Its cool like that.
