I thought this city was just going to be some dumb midwest place, but Chicago fucking rules. It's a real city. It has also made me realize how TINY Boston is.

But the people here are super cool and the bars we've gone to have been a lot of fun. And the city just looks awesome. It's so visually appealing. I was also surprised at how fashionable everyone here is. I just assumed fat guys in Bears shirts, but its not at all (although I really want to burn down the Ugg store).

My favorite moment so far was walking by a Lamborghini / Bentley dealership (*swoon*) and seeing a fucking Bugatti Veyron sitting out front. I had no idea there were so many rich people out here.

Although, could you move the fucking airport closer to downtown? 45 minutes to get to downtown is retarded.

So Chicago, I'm absolutely blown away. I thought it would be another Cleveland or something, but I was so, so wrong. Maybe my whole view on the Midwest is wrong.

Agree. I lived for a year out in North Lake a western suburb and spent many a weekend in Chi. Chicago is one of the cleanest American cities I've ever been to. Great fun people, clubs/bars. If you are ever there, ask for Gary (pronounced Geery) Stanko. I've lost touch with him but was one of the funniest people I've ever met. Great guy. He drank me under the table regularly and loved horseradish and hot sauce.

Is there anything anyone can suggest we do before we leave on Sunday? We have some plans, but not enough to fill the next 3 days.

We also went to a bar on N Ravine last night called The Annoyance and it was one of the best bars I've ever been to. I highly suggest it to anyone who is looking for a place to drink in Chicago.

Have you been to navy pier?
Navy Pier (http://www.navypier.com/)

Any of the museums? The best one.
Museum of Science and Industry (http://www.msichicago.org/)

Millennium park is pretty decent. See the bean.

I would say park at Navy Pier and walk around chi. Its a flat rate after so many hours and its easy parking.

See what they have going on at the Mccormick center.
Oh nevermind that place then. nothing going on there.

Fuck yeah. My city rules.

The airport commutes by train aren't usually bad, but if you came in to O'Hare it can be brutal. They're doing a ton of work on the blue line, so it delays the train a lot ad sometimes you even have to get off in the midle and take a connection shuttle to another station.

Still, keeping the airports further out cuts way down on noise and pollution.

Catch a show at Second City on Wells if you can. It's not far from Molly's (and only a couple blocks from me, MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAH!) and you can get some amazing ribs from the Twin Anchors for dinner.

Lincoln Park is a great area to walk around. There's a few smaller museums and historical sites scattered around it, plus the zoo right in the middle of the park.

I have no idea if the aquarium is still open this time of year, but if it that's always a cool visit. So is the natural history museum.

I really want to grab all my shit and move the fuck out here.

After going to the John Hancock Observatory and then on to Molly's, we stumbled into a place called The Other Side Bar, where we proceeded to spend the 75 degree day getting wasted and eating the best pizza I have ever eaten. And it wasn't even that deep dish stuff, just the straight best pizza I've ever had.

And walking around Lincoln Park made me want to move right away.

We went to O'Callahan's last night and watched what must have been "Sluttiest Costume Contest" line up outside of the place next door.

I saw more bottom of ass cheeks last night than I could ever count. I'm pretty sure every single girl in Chicago went as a Naughty something. But I think some of the girls going into that place were going as Naughty Sluts.

Did the Architectural Tour, which was cold but a lot of fun. Chicago has some really amazing buildings.

Yesterday, we went to Chicago Pizza and Oven Grinder Co. We had to wait almost 2 hours for a table and it was so fucking worth it. While we were waiting, every single person who walked out made a comment about it being worth the wait and they weren't kidding. My wife got the Pizza Pot Pie and I got a sausage grinder. It was so fucking good. I highly recommend this place, but go hungry. The amount of food put in front of you is fucking obscene.

After that, we went and did the nighttime John Hancock Observatory thing. Chicago is beautiful all lit up. Once we went back downstairs, we went back up to drink in the Signature Bar on the 96th floor. That was a lot of fun. We got up there just in time, too. As we left, the line to get into the bar was stretched all the way around the corner. And my wife got to get the best view of Chicago, which is supposedly out of the women's restroom on the 96th floor.

Chicago rules. I'm sad to be home. I really would love to live in Chicago.

I forgot all about one of the funniest things that happened while we were in Chicago.

After the Architectural tour, we're walking around Navy Pier. It's a Saturday and semi-nice out, so there's a lot of families around. A crack head looking black guy comes walking by himself and out of nowhere starts yelling, "Racist ass motherfuckers. All this shit gonna change as soon as fucking Obama is president. Just wait."

No one said a word to him before he started going off about the "racist ass motherfuckers". It was awesome.

We enjoyed the Billy Goat quite a bit, it was funny for a while.
The burgers were just ok.
Its not as bad as Cheers which I visited in Boston.

I see Im too late but I would also recommend the greyline tour. Those are good ways to see a city just about anywhere you go.
We took one in Pittsburgh & it was damn interesting & well worth the $.
The all day trolley in Chi is ok as long as its not the weekend & the thing is already filled up when it arrives at the bus stop!
Chicago is a great walking city though.
The Bean in Millenium park is fascinating. Its very cool to stand underneath.
I think I would avoid the loop tomorrow night, Tuesday. The Obama victory party may not go well if McCain wins some of those coal states.

Headed back home to central Illinois for a wedding this weekend.

Thinking about heading up to Chicago on Sunday and staying til Tuesday.

Since moving from the Land of Lincoln, we've only done "tourist" type junk in the city on return visits. (Museums, the zoo, Sear's Tower, etc.)

It'll be myself, my chick and our 18 month old daughter.

Other than Molly's of course, any other suggestions?

And, as much as I'd personally love suggestions on bars or pubs, I can't see bringing a stroller in there, or making my chick wait outside, so those are out.

Last time we were there, my chick had an intrest in getting out on the lake. A boat tour, maybe?

I see that the Cubs are back in town on Monday against the Brewers Monday night. How hard (and expensive) are Cubs tix to get now that they're 9½ games out? And what's the best way to obtain them?

Any family friendly suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

If you go to a Cubs game (good tickets are easy to get for not too much either from private sellers online or scalpers these days) the bar I reccomend is Cullen's on North Southport. It's just like 4-5 blocks NW of Wrigley.
