Oh...el mudo.
Well, I'm from Connecticut

the Terps just blow this season, i was so disgusted by the massive lead they blew last year against Clemson, that it has shaken my faith in Uncle Gary's ability to recruit talent, and it KILLS me to say that

That's because he lost his two best recruiters: fellow CUAers Mike Lonergan and Jimmy Patzos.

Well, Lonergan was only here like a year before he moved on to Vermont, I DO think he should be the next coach here when Gary retires...Patsos was great too, and he's moved on to Loyola. There has been a LOT of turnover with the assistant coaches the last few years between those two, Mike Adams, Robb Moxxley, etc etc
Gary also doesn't really like to recruit kids who really aren't going to stay long, and i'm not sure you can do that nowadays. When you look at all the talent from BMo that's NOT coming to Maryland (guys like Melo and Rudy Gay for example), its just sad.

Gary also doesn't really like to recruit kids who are going to graduate.
So true.

So true.
Those "graduation stats" are BOGUS
Firstly, they are stats from the teams from the National Title years (98-2002), filled with guys like Chris Wilcox and Steve Francis, who left early for the NBA, and TWO GUYS WHO TRANSFERRED TO OTHER SCHOOLS AND THEREFORE DID NOT GRADUATE FROM MARYLAND. And Tahj Holden (from those teams) graduated this summer.
"I've graduated 42 players in 18 years," Coach Gary Williams said. "I feel it is completely false, the [zero] number. The guys who are playing in the NBA, are they wrong for taking advantage of their ability? Are these people failures? To say the majority of these people are not successful is completely wrong."
NCAA officials say their three-year-old formula, which they call the Graduation Success Rate, is more accurate than federal graduation rates because the NCAA's methodology accounts for all scholarship student-athletes,including those who transfer into a school from four- and two-year colleges
I hate the NCAA

A&M's not ranked. Don't worry though, we'll move up there pretty quick. Gig 'Em Aggies!
I never thought our basketball team would be better than our football team. Big props to Gillespie for getting our program going.

But every school is treated the same way, it's not like MD is singled out. Reported graduation rate takes transfers into account negatively.
Penn State beat Purdue last night. Is it one of those rare years where the Lions might get a tourney bid? Taylor Battle looks like the best point guard in the Big Ten.

I'm not saying theyre being singled out, but the way its calculated is pretty unfair

I predict the game of the year on ESPN right now. #1 UConn at #7 Louisville.
I have a man crush on Earl Clark. He's a beast.
And Big East tourney about a month away.

UConn playing great defense right now. Thabeet is a game changer inside.

I put a good jinx on Clark tonight, played to worst game of his college career.
Thabeet is the single most important presence on any court in the country.
Louisville has no crunch time or pressure ball handler. Strong defense can rattle them too easy.

Thabeet looks like a bitch tonight. Blair is schooling him.
