I think my last time trick-or-treating was when I was 13.
I had some lame ass costume that consisted of a Florida Marlins t-shirt and hat. I was supposed to be a baseball player, but somebody called me out on it.
When and why did you quit?

12 was my last year because the next year my friends thought it would be cool to go around with shaving cream :help::help::help::help:

I was the youngest, so the thrill for my parents had already gone.
That, coupled with their divorce made me about 8 or 9 when I stopped.

I don't know if you'd call it "Trick or Treating", but at 16, having just seen the movie "The Warriors", we used Halloween as an excuse to dress up as the "Baseball Furies", and go around in costume with baseball bats knocking out pumpkins and campaign signs in every yard we went through.
When someone thought they spotted a cop, we'd actually go to a door and beg for candy, and did this a number of times so we'd have an alibi if we got caught, but it was mainly a night of destruction.
Almost ended up taking one kid to the hospital after he took a bat to an old ladies kerosene lantern she'd left on her porch. (He set it out in the road, took a running start, and knocked the hell out of it with the bat, causing a nice kerosene fireball, which caught his baseball pants on fire) Lucky for him he took the running start which carried him into a damp pile of leaves in the yard across the street.
Edit... I should note that we'd seen the movie ON HBO. It came out in 1979... this was 1984. I'm not THAT old, dammit.

I may have been 12 or so. I was old enough to feel kinda foolish that last year I went.

You should've gone with it. Just keep typing the same thing over and over, but add a little bit each time. "I stopped when I was 12." "I stopped when I was 12 the first year I stuck a horn." I stopped the year I was 12 the first year I stuck a horn I bet you didn't know..."
Never mind, it takes too long.
