No, this isn't me thinking I've stumbed onto some kind of musical revelation here...more that I'm surprised at how many people want to just shred them down. I was checking the new reviws at the AV Club today and the amount of whining about AC/DC in the comments was insane. (http://www.avclub.com/content/music/ac_dc) Who the fuck hates AC/DC?!? Yes, of course, 99% of their music sounds EXACTLY the same. Yes, it's dumb as fuck. BUT IT FUCKING RULES. The new album sounds just like the last 4,873, and God bless it for that.

I guess I'm just stunned that people are willing to pretend like they haven't heard a single song by them, hell, even a single riff, that hasn't rocked their fucking socks off.

Yes, please keep going an naming bands that were largely influenced by earlier rock and blues. Although I'm sure AC/DC themselves would acknowledge influences from others, their sound is strictly kick-ass guitar riffs with all sharp edges. I think I read some other snippet of an interview with one of those rocket scientist/musicians stating that another reason for them not to offer their music in an electronic format is their belief that the mp3 is going to destroy the music industry...so they sign an exclusive deal with Walmart, who are unintentionally helping to destroy what was good about American culture.

I think I read some other snippet of an interview with one of those rocket scientist/musicians stating that another reason for them not to offer their music in an electronic format is their belief that the mp3 is going to destroy the music industry...so they sign an exclusive deal with Walmart, who are unintentionally helping to destroy what was good about American culture.

Not making their songs available online and the WalMart deal are pretty unavoidable awful. Too many classic bands are resisting selling their songs online, and it's annoying. Beatles, I'm looking at YOU.
