its pretty good, but i liked zombie survival guide better. world war z kinda bounces around like pulp fiction, which sounds cool but is really hard to follow in book form. especially for a drunk like me. but still, a good read.

no you dont need to. survival guide is a mock survival guide to survive the impending zombie infestation, while world war z is just a couple of peoples different stories from around the world about the war against the zombies.

I also bought but have yet to read this book. I think I saw it recommended by a few folks in one of the "What are you reading" threads but what really sold me was a blip on Wikipedia that described one of the pivotal plot points as "The Battle of Yonkers" where the zombies win. Having lived in Yonkers for most of my life I thought - Yeah, that sounds about right.

Looking forward to cracking the spine on this one.

The movie is likely just going to be more of the same zombie bullshit we see all the time but on a bigger scale. The oral history style of the book is what made it really unique, and that's likely to be totally lost.
