I strarted watching these Bravo competitions with Project Runway because one of my patients was a model on one season. My wife started watching them all and Top Chef is the best.Project Runway gets too gay after about half way through and the top design sucks. I look forward to Top Chef though

I didn't see a clear favorite... no one looked over the top polished. My best guess right now is the girl who was in the final three - who cooked Italian. She had the "Top Chef" demeanor... calm - collected - and she aparently knew a couple cooking styles... I think the only reason she didn't win was because her food was something she is accustomed to cooking.

being the first person cut from the show always sucks. especially this season when they booted someone from a quick fire. way to travel all the way from georgia to be on tv for 10 minutes instead of 10 weeks or whatever it is. it's also odd that the two buddies from cia were both booted on the first day. i know the one dude said he was still going to school so the other chick must be real fresh in her career.

I think there are a serious number of DOA mediocre chefs on the show. I think that they want some easy people to pick off early so that the best chefs have a chance to gain a following and show how much better they are than the weak contestants. It isnt a real competition until they get down to eight.

They are exaggerating Toby Young's credentials. He is not a credible food critic. He is well known in England but not as a food critic. they brought him in because he is a prick but he doesn't know what he is talking about when it comes to food. I heard that Bravo is giving him his own show and this is the way to introduce him to American audiences.

Toby Young doesn't know shit about food and he isn't even that funny. I hate how the producers have fed the competitors lines like "we better watch out, that Toby Young is a famous English food critic who is really mean but funny". Arianne was in the bottom just about every week before she went on that mini-streak. I think I posted in here--one more time in the bottom 3 and she would be gone.

I think they couldn't have kicked Leah off when Radaka was just as useless for the pork team. I think doing nothing was not worse than trying to do everything and screwing it up. It's funny how opinionated we can get about people cookling food that we never get to taste--we have to take the judges word for it. Remember the duck/cabbage that the German/Finnish guy last round? Everyone seemed to hate it except Tom, who loved it. I also think Tom has 3 or 4 times as much say in who goes...

I told my boyfriend that i wish they would just tell Jeff to not cook anymore and during challenges when they show everyone at their stations chopping and mixing they would cut to him and he would be doing magic.

I don't really care who wins thsi season, the challenges are so much more bloated from what they started from in season 1. I remember them giving a challenge and being in a panic too because it seemed next to impossible to create what they asked for. Now there is no passion in it it seems.

Stephan is the only solid cook on the show and i think that's why they all hate him, that and they don't understand his humor.

From the beginning they've been telling him to scale back, that he is all over the place and it ruins the quality of his food.

They obviously all have problems listening because they already think they've Top Chefs in their minds but Jeff has never had dishes that really wowed the judges. (The only times they liked his dishes a lot were in challenges where his teammates put out worse dishes).

I'm not saying Fabio is great but they're keeping him around for ratings, just like they played up the Josea and Leah tryst.

I lost Satellite signal for about 10 minutes during the quickfire, so I'm not sure how Jeff won the thing, and it took me a while to get the part about him having to win to stay. But once I figured it out, part of me was rooting for him because it seemed like he finally "got it" about how to compete. If he had been doing this all along, he easily could have made the final four on his own.

If Carla wasn’t going to win, I didn't want Stephan to win just because I really thought he mailed it in weeks ago. But as the episode wrapped up I was rooting for no one. Hosea was just an ass to Carla in the waiting room and I finally had it with his Stephan obsession.

What cracks me up is that Stephan literally lost because of his desert - which in restaurant wars was the top dog. When I heard he made a desert I was thinking he had it in the bag – and with some clever editing it looked like Gail was saying she couldn’t stop eating it earlier so I thought the game was over halfway through. My favorite comment was that the desert looked like it was from 1982. It was made all the more funny because I am reading an older cookbook by Jaque Pepin who has a TON about Aspic – so I have to skip around because some of it is so 1982…

Other things to note… Rocco Disperito is a douche.

I loved when Tom FINALLY put his foot down on Toby's neck by disqualifying everything he was saying about Hosea not doing a desert "it wasn't a requirement". I hope we never see Toby again on Top Chef.

It really was great to have Gail back at the end…

I don’t think Jeff was the best chef – but I have a suspicion he would have been hard to beat in the finale. I think that guy knows how to cook with great ingredients. Jamie would also have been brutal to beat. I think both head to head would beat Hosea.

Finally, what in the HELL was Carla thinking? How can you let someone tell you how to cook IN THE FINALLE when you have never cooked that way before? HOW IS IT POSSIBLE! Hoody!

Last season Richard was the odds on favorite going into the finale and he choked similar to what happened to Stephan.

Its always been about who does the best meal on each show. I don't think they have ever taken the whole season into consideration when choosing the final winner.

I think it comes down to who can they stand to be around as well... the year Ilan won, I dont believe they picked the best person. Marcel was a WAY better cook - but Ilan was a nice guy and cooked ONE style of food well.

On a side note - after watching five seasons - is there anyone yet who matches up to Hung Huynh? I dont think a single chef has once come close to him overall. I loved Richard and Stephanie - both of whom I believe would have rocked Hosea and Stephan - but I dont see them in Hung's class.

I can';t imagine Josea coming back in future seasons as the champ who brings wisdom as a past winner. He just isn't that good to be an "expert". He couldn't even cook fish good and that was his thing. It really watered down the show having him as the Top Chef.

I think its funny that the helper chefs were way better than the actual chefs. Top Chef All Stars would be great. Lets be honest the highlight of this season was when all the old douches came back in that superbowl challenge.

I really enjoyed the reunion - they called everyone out that needed called out... I was also interested to see Padma's personality a bit - she isnt as rigid as I imagined she would be.

I am guessing this is the last time we see Toby at judges table, ever...

I really think they were CRAZY not to show the drunken judges table - that would have made this season so much better - and would have swayed people to Leah and Jamie's side IMO... there werent enough likeable people this year - poor editing IMO because this group seemed like a lot of fun on the reunion.
