See ya there, mmmbuddays!
WILL FERRELL is coming to Broadway next year, and is apparently bringing PRESIDENT BUSH along with him. According to the New York Times, Ferrell will star in a one-man show titled You're Welcome America. A Final Night with George W. Bush. The show will be directed by Ferrell's friend and frequent collaborator, ADAM MCKAY.
A separate report confirmed that Ferrell will reprise his impersonation of GEORGE W. BUSH, which he performed during his Saturday Night Live days. The show will begin previews at the Cort Theatre on January 20th -- the day Bush's successor will be inaugurated -- followed by a limited engagement from February 1st to March 15th. The show, which has been described as autobiographical in nature, will mark Ferrell's Broadway debut.

What do you mean by "too much to take?"

It was funny. The show itself wasn't a very smooth narrative, whereas it kind of jumped all over the place but Ferrell was excellent in character and had some great moments when he was interacting with the audience. He did an excellent job portraying Bush as the dolt we all know he is.

it works as a bit on SNL but not longer than that. just like any SNL sketches that become movies. the novelty wears off.

I just watched it, and enjoyed it.
I was afraid it would be way to liberal (oh no! that word!!) for me to take,
but he did a great job of it. I had some really way too loud for 2 am type laughs coming outta me. (Dick Cheney in the basement!)
The first audience interaction (are you from the new york times?) was great, until we learned later it was all a set up. Much funnier if it was a riff.
Yes, it was a Bush bash of course, but he had a major solemn moment when he showed Bush was only human, and even took a few (very few, but a few) jabs at Obama, and apparently democrat audience in front of him.
It wasnt written for tv, but to experience live... but since I couldnt be there this was the next best thing, and I'd say if you have an hour and a half free, watch it.

It has it's moments. It kind of dragged at some points though.

I haven't seen it yet, from the response here maybe I will, but 8 years of that asshole was enough for me, the last thing I need is more GW jokes. I just want to forget about him, like a molestation.
