Anyone else care about this? I just picked it up for PS3. It is online only :blink:. It came with a bluetooth headset, which is now the single nerdiest thing I own.

I haven't seen any reviews yet, I just picked it up because the last few were pretty good.

Chime in if you want to kill some terrorists. (I mean 14 year old geeks)

Everything about the SOCOM games just doesn't appeal to me. I've never played any, but they don't stand out as a game that I have to get.

Did you get to play? I couldn't even get on last night. It took forever to install and even longer to update. Then, it would either freeze loading the game, or I couldn't connect to the network. If they're going to release games as multiplayer only, they may want to have a couple more servers.

Took an hour loading it, had a drink. Wouldn't work, had a drink. Unloaded and reloaded it, had a drink. By 8:00 it was all loaded and I was out of scotch. Plus, I couldn't connect to the server. Seems like everyone is having this problem.

Looks like they fixed the servers, but my system still freezes a lot. This is really frustrating, because when the game itself works it's awesome.

People should get shit-canned for this failure. They knew it was going to be huge. It's online play only. How dumb do you have to be to not have enough servers? You can't charge people for a game they can't play, and you shouldn't release a game that randomly crashes the system.

It looks like theres a bunch of features in the manual and listed on the packaging that aren't available yet either. No invites, trophies, calendar, etc.

What the fuck? As much as I loathe MS, unless Xbox has a similar massive failure, I'll be going with their console next time around.
