Anyone have suggestions for some good ole Halloween funtime adventures in the Garden State?
I was mainly looking for recommendations for a good haunted hayride in the North Jersey/New York State area. I used to go every year when I was a child but its been a few years and I want to take a young lady. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Anything else cool to see? Pumpkin display or what not. Post it here.

Take a stroll on Clinton Place in Hackensack. People really go overboard with decorations and themes. It gets busy enough for the city to close the street to traffic. (I think they shut it down at 9pm nightly.) There are some pics on Flikr.

Sussex Fairgrounds has a Halloween fest. 10/23-25. They've got Hayrides and a Haunted Walk-through! Also, Gingerbread Castle in Hamburg becomes a Haunted Castle. I don't think they have a hayride though.

Clinton NJ has a Haunted Mill every year with zombies and haunted hayride.
Haunted Mill
Fri. & Sat.: October 17, 18, 24, 25—Haunted Mill
The historic Red Mill comes alive with the eerie sights and sounds of Halloween. If you survive you might want to try the haunted hay ride also. For children and fearless adults. The biggest, safest and best haunted event in the area.
Doors open 6:00 p.m.
Special Admission
I also saw a creepy one, though that is PA. It's in Tatamy, PA http://www.tatamyhauntedmill.com/

I was just gonna recommend the Clinton Haunted Hayride ... I know several of the cast members. (It's the reason I usually don't see my friend Val this time of year ... friggin' hayride steals her away!!!)
But, since Clinton is out in Hunterdon Cty (Rte. 78 or Rte 22 W ... depending on where you're driving from) it may be inconvenient for you.
Also, if you're far enough north, there's always the Forest of Fear in Tuxedo at the Ren Faire Grounds in Sterling Forest ... I hear it's cheesy, but fun.

I knew someone who was part of the cast there YEARS ago... like in 97.
It's been great every year and they put so much work into it.

Heaven Hill Farm in Vernon has a nice set-up. I work about 3/4 mile from there. We went on the haunted hayride last year and the kids loved it. They also have the old haunted house from Seaside Heights there. And I think on the weekends they have the amusement rides going.

I used to love hayrides as a youngster.
I'll bring a chick this Friday to the one in Vernon or maybe Clinton. Thanks for the tips. Keep 'em coming.

Well, I'll be going to the haunted hayride in Vernon tomorrow at around 7. I'm sure the line will be out the ass but whatever. Thanks for the suggestions, can't wait to fake being scared!
