How often does the coffee you buy (out and about) suck?

Also - do you tend to complain if your coffee is f'd up? Or do you just don't care? Or you'd rather not cause trouble? Can't really tell the difference?

I complained at Starbucks a couple days ago for getting coffee flavored water. It's always this stunned reaction from them - like I'm fucking lying... I'm in here every goddam day.. you think you brew the coffee perfectly every time?

Lumacrips.

My favorite part is... I know the procedure for making coffee there.. you get someone to grind up a bunch of basket filters full of coffee the day before and put them 25 or30 at a time in a big tin. Each is based on weight and if you get someone who's inexperienced or doesn't care or stupid, then guess what? Coffee flavored water.

Dunkin Donuts is no better.

What's your experience in this matter?

i drink tea.

on the rare occasion that i have coffee, i can't really tell the difference between what coffee-drinkers might consider good or bad (other than if it's too weak).

i try to make my coffee every morning -- french pressed espresso (with a scoop of instant espresso for those special days)

if i run out of time or supplies, i'll go back to starbucks (and only starbucks) for my four shot over ice ... i'm lucky that the locations by my house and job make the drink exactly -- kinda hard not to -- but, if they screw it up (or charge me extra), i'll let them know

i have such a specific addiction to caffeine, i have no problem being that guy

I have not bought deli coffee in about 3 years.
I set up my deluxe coffee system to start brewing at 6 am.
2 cups for me, 2 for my chick.
The stainless steel carafe keeps it piping hot.
We spend about a buck three eighty a week on coffee.

Suckers!

I only go to Starbucks when I can't find a "mom and pop" shop. They seem to have more personality and you occasionally get a barista that is really into coffee and they know how to make it really nice. I have a great espresso machine at home and a favorite brand of beans (It's called "knee Buckling Espresso") so most coffee out and about tastes like crap to me now.

Where's the option for "never sucks"?

My wife and son both work at Starbux so I rarely pay for a cup of coffee, I am not really a coffee drinker anyway.

And yes, the volume of brewed and custom coffee that goes through there, they know mistakes happen. There are a few idiots there though that will ignore that. They probably dump about a third of the coffee that goes over the counter.

Where's the option for "never sucks"?

It exists in "happy land" where you get blowjobs on every corner and people hand you $100 bills all the time.

(come to think of it.. I meant to include that in the opt out section at the top of the poll... whoopsadaisey)

I try not to buy coffee in a shop unless its a mom & pop even though I have a Starbucks right across the street from me.

My whole routine depends upon me getting to work. Once I make it, its fresh ground coffee like a gentleman.

you know uptontea.com?

Though razor's in UK I think... there's a place or two to find good tea there I suspect.

I have a Thermos full of Scottish bf blend for the overnight ... I'm going to get some now.

Enjoy.

I love coffee!!! With no cream. Half the time it tastes pretty bitter when I get it at a coffee shop, but I really don't mind. I'll even drink gas station coffee which tastes like crap. My favorite is flavored coffee. But whether it tastes good or bad, I just love the fix I get from it, and it's warm in my tummy.

My coffee usually sucks whenever I get it anywhere other than home.

We use one of those coffee pod machines at home and it is consistantly good.

When I do buy a cup of coffee someplace, I always try to get it somewhere that allows me to put in the sugar and cream myself.

How about you hook a brother up with some premium bean?

I checked "frequently" because I just moved to CA in June and have yet to find a reasonable cup of coffee. I don't like the way Starbucks roasts theirs, but it seems like everyone else just lets the coffee sit there all day. I want one of those $2000 coffee makers that grinds the beans, heats the water, and shaves my legs.

about all i know of tea is Lipton's or Barry's teabags. i know bag tea isn't the best, but i only drink a cup a day with my breakfast, and it tastes fine to me.

I haven't ever been able to brew good coffee at home, but especially since I got the new coffee machine. It is a restaurant style machine where you brew it and hit the little button to get as much as you want at a time. It's been months and I can't get it right.

I love coffee, but I have gotten too used to drinking crappy stuff. And I can't spend a lot of money on it so I am forced to suffer through.

I live in a magical land where starbucks barely exists and where it does it doesn't succeed. I've only had coffee from there a couple times and wasn't impressed at all. I couldn't even begin to tell you where the closest dunkin donuts is either. We have a few mom and pop bakeries that thrive on their coffee and i'll occasionally stop in there for a cup. Primarily if i drink coffee its made at my office in a old ass percolator.

I thought that the old percolator made the best coffee i could ever have till i visited PA last month and experienced coffee from a magical place called Wawa.

I'd always heard good things about Wawa but until i actually stepped foot in one it had all been mythical to me.

I love to say that Im sweet enough and dont need to add anything to enjoy the coffee, but a ton of places are too bitter so some skim is needed/I rarely complain about it.

The thought of earl having some pissy coffee was too much to pass on though. That guy sucks

My iced coffee sucks everytime I don't go to Starbucks.
I know they're a big terrible horrible company (success = evil in the US), but they make iced coffee the way I like it. Sometimes I give a small deli or a indie coffeehouse a chance and it ALWAYS tastes like shit. I wish it wasn't the case, but it is.

Have to say love the SBUX, and gave up on "gas station" coffee (which includes Dunkin Donuts + McD, IMHO). Coffee I make at home is primo cause I use enuf grounds. Coffee at work is basically light brown turpintine but as an addict I still have to choke a cup or two down during the day. Funny thing is I take it with Coffee Mate (has to be the real stuff not off brand kind) at home, always w/ 1/2 + 1/2 at SB, but always black (well really brown) at work. I am practically the united nations of coffee.

Wawa's more of a card trick

Check out this place (http://www.houseofcoffeepa.com/) if you're ever in the east -ass end of the state (it's up near New Hope... minutes from the NJ border) and try to find the owner who'll entice you (or bore you) with his extensive coffee knowledge.

I walked out of there with a $19/lb. bag of Rwandan coffee b/c everyone knows you couldn't get coffee from Rwanda for years due to civil strife ... now the beans are flowing.

It's so goddam good I came.

(I drank it black - it was so good and rarely do)

Is there anything better then the free coffee card? Buy 6 get one free. I go to a place that does that and I dig it big time like today when I got my free one.

First cup is made fresh at home; never sucks.
second cup is either starbucks or dunkin donuts, they rarely make a mistake.
throughout the day, I'll get coffee from assorted deli's, and thats always a hit n miss.
Occasionally, I'll treat myself to an authentic cafe con leche, which never fails to satisfy.

Man, I love coffee.

I'm not a big coffee drinker but the office just recently got a Flavia machine. Real easy to make cappuccinos. So I have one every morning.

Coffee makes me shake, so I only drink it if I'm having an asthma attack and I don't have a rescue inhaler. A small Starbucks regular drip coffee, black, works like a charm.

And we have Keurig K-Cup machines at the office, so I don't even need to do that if I'm really hard-pressed.

I find that it used to be a lot better than it is now. I also find that the Dunkin Donuts coffee in the city always sucks, while the Long Island ones are usually good. But occasionally I get one that I refer to as "camel sweat".
