AVG: "Connection to Server Failed"

I get this at least four times a week. Most times I "manually" update and it takes a couple of minutes. Sometimes I let it go and it seems to correct itself.

I also found that if I don't keep my computer on for the update (6am) it won't update. I'd rather not leave my computer on all night (although it's only a few hours since I get home after 11pm).

Anyone else experience these problems?

I don't have that problem, but you can change the time when it updates.

Edit: I do actually get that message if I've had my computer on, but the firewall was blocking internet connection during the time that the update is supposed to happen. I just try again in a few seconds and everything is fine.

The majority of the time that this happened you are in need of a reboot, because some part of the software updated. Other times, you have to manually update the definitions and program by opening the program. They are cryptic with the error message for some reason. I've noticed this happens a LOT more with AVG 8.0 since upgrading, which I regret.

i have got it a lot this week as well. I think they are just having some server issues
