Reasons why the people you work with suck

Today i went to Panera and got their Bagel Pack (13 bagels and 2 things of cream cheese) for the people i work with (their are 7 people in my group and 1 was out today).

So i get to work and everyone gets some bagels and such, they say thank you

Then three of them proceeded to order pizza for themselves without asking if anyone else wants any. To think after bringing in bagels they would possibly mention that they were doing this to see if i even wanted to order some as well but they didnt.

And heres the kicker, about 5 months ago the same thing happened, and after that i swore to never bring in things for these humps ever again, and the first time i break that promise they do the same thing.

Anyone else have things like this happen to them

It usually ends when I over patronize them with "Wow that sounds just like Palin, you should do stand up!" or just a simple "Shut the fuck up before I cut you!" (the second one is acceptable in my industry.

There's a group of 20-somethings in their first jobs out of college that I've nicknamed the Kotex Mafia.

Work is cliquey, but the current financial crisis has just made morale at my job plummet, myself included.

One of my co-workers started lamenting that he doesn't want to buy a house because he doesn't want to be foreclosed on if he loses his job.

Yeah, way to make me feel good.

Cubicles don't muffle the sound and I can understand Spanglish, sort of. Especially when your tone of voice gives it away.

I can't tell you how many personal conversations I've overheard while at work because people forget that just because you can't see me doesn't mean I can't hear you. (Admittedly, I have noise issues myself, but in order to get over them, someone has to tell my mother and my grandparents to get cell plans with texting!)

One woman I work with looks like Lucille Ball. She has the personality of a door knob. All her stories go no where or start with the tag "wait till you hear this" or "Oh this is too much" or "I got something so funny".


She will tell a long winded story like grandpa simpson would but with absolutely no ending or punchline.


I have decided that her life is about nothing like Seinfeld. But she's not funny at all.

I have nicknamed her "Seinfeld sans funny" and that is how we talk about her in the office without her knowing it.


That and she sucks at making coffee.

It doesn't make me feel any better knowing she's like this with everyone. She's had a rough life and has a slew of problems. I feel bad for her cause her lact of tact and abrasiveness at times is just a big front.

She's really a softie who works 2 full time jobs and a part time job (sometimes) in order to support her 2 grown kids and sister. So her family takes advantage of her at home, and she takes advantage of us at work. It's quite sad.

Does waiting until the year has started to assign projects for that year count as being sucky? Because they only handed out our project assignments YESTERDAY.

Why they couldn't take advantage of the down time after the 4th quarter closed out, I will never know. It would've been nice to have an extra 2 weeks to update the scheduling system.

Of course, they could've made it easier on everybody and left us with all our projects from last year instead of re-assigning things every year.

I do heavy manual labor. In and out of manholes, pulling heavy cable, using heavy machinery, digging, pick axing, I guess you get the point. It is very necessary that all hands in the gang shoulder the load since the work is physically exausting. Well it never goes like that. We hire these fucking helpers and they're all little puney weaklings and never do they're share. Its always the same group of do'ers that shoulder %90 of the work. My back is getting tired.
