There are some down by Philly but that's too far out of the way for me. Now I can hop right across the state line and get me some Sonic.

This might be the biggest thing to happen in 45 years. I am used to seeing the commercials on such a constant basis, everything looks so wonderful there and since it's never been around it's had an allure to it.
I went to a Sonic once in Fresno after climbing a mountain, I thought it was pretty terrible, but now that it's right down the road I might have to try it again. Even after an 18 mile hike I still wasn't starving enough to really like it.
But really, the burgers there were just about average and didn't make me want to go back for a second.

Sonic is so overrated.
There's going to be one opening up in Howell sometime next year too. I guess they are starting to spread out in NJ.

sonic made money in the south with the drive-in get-a-burger-that's not a big-mac/whopper gimmick, the food stinks. the northeast has way too many burger/diner/dives for sonic to compete with.

To me the burger tasted like a Wendy's burger, really nothing special at all. For now I will blame it on us showing up about 10 minutes before they closed. Will have to try this one at a more reasonable hour sometime.
Now Five Guys, THAT is a burger, I'll be heading to the one in Watchung tomorrow. Five Guys is the best, only thing that has beaten it so far has been Jackson Hole in NYC.
White Mana I was not impressed with at all. I went to the one on 1&9 just north of Jersey City. Meh. White Diamond in Clark blows it away.

sonic isn't about their burgers, they are all about the other shit. the desserts are awesome. so are the sides & all the different beverages. their burgers are plain. their toaster sandwiches are the shit though.

Funny you should say this (not actually funny) but thats almost exactly how I describe Sonic to people. The burger was plain but the iced coffee frozen chocolate thing I got was pretty wonderful.
Go buy one of their chili dogs if you are constipated, cleans out your entire colon in under an hour

I haven't had Sonic but they look delightful so I can't comment on them, but now White Manna is SO good I would and HAVE crossed state lines to get those burgers.

I'm thirsty as hell. Do we got any cherry limeades back there?

I have one nearby here in Ohio
Burgers are just average (they do have a new angus burger which isnt bad)
Chicken sandwiches are just like what you can get at any place
Tater tots are good, the onion rings are good, mozzarella sticks are money, their breakfast burritos are good, all of their drinks are awesome (cherry limeade w/ a shot of vanilla in it FTW) and at christmas they have the fried cheesecake bites
But none top the McRib

Sonic is over-rated. The big draw is the MASSIVE menu and car delivery for lazy pricks, but the food is sub-par.
Still, I think Mcdonald's have the worst burgers, with Checkers being a second.

Oklahoma is the home of the sonic, they are on every corner like gas stations. It isn't anything special and most Oklahoma's only go there for their drinks.

Wow, its the fourth sonic in NJ but i guess they've all been in the deep south of nj until now. But according to the myspace, theres more coming this summer..Howell, Totowa, Somers Point, Manahawkin.

There's one in Howell, NJ that I passed yesterday that is just about finished and looks like it will open any day now. I'll try it out when it opens but I'm not expecting much.

Fuckin' Sonic...what a brilliant scam.
Such terrible food, even for fast food, but their advertising is brilliant. You get people who aren't near them so curious that when they finally see one they have to stop.

I'm at 114 and Howell seems too far to even bother trying anything they make, even with their devious commercials.
I have wanted a Chipotle forever and now apparently they have one in the Monmouth Mall i have never ever seen, wtf?

North Jersey's first opens today. (http://www.northjersey.com/food/dining/48697077.html) Rt 17 N. in Hasbrouk Heights.
People were trying to pull in yesterday. Some actually got out of their cars and started yelling at the employees (either there for orientation or last minute pre-opening crap).
Never been to one; I'll stick with Circus (http://circusdrivein.com/) for my drive-in needs.

I'm not sure when it opened. I think it was either at the same time or shortly after BBP came along.
And I highly recommend Bobby's. A bit pricey (though not nearly as bad as we were expecting), but absolutely worth it.

Are you mad?!?!?!
Culver's is one of the only reason's I'd now have to back to Wisconsin (or thereabouts).
Section 8's Reasons for Going to Wisconsin (or thereabouts)
1. Good place to de-stress.
2. Culver's Butterburgers
3. You can see the stars better at night
4. Culver's Butterburgers
5. Not 90 flippin' degrees with 100% humidity for 60 days straight
6. Culver's Butterburgers
7. Culver's Ice Cream
8. Houdini Beer
9. Some really fucked up but tasty pizzas.
10. Buffalo Blue Cheeseburgers are readily available at many restaurants.
As for Sonic, haven't been to one since I lived in CO. Loved the drinks, burgers were standard fast food fare. I'll more than likely hit up the one in Howell when it opens. However, a Five Guys just opened up a mile north of them on the same side of the highway. And I likes me some Five Guys burgers.
