So I came home from practice (as mentioned in my Should I Speed thread)

And I'd stopped at Wegman's to get a few things. I noticed a Wegman's brand personal frozen pizza on sale and decided to get one. Should have gotten two. Not that I didn't get to eat the one I DID buy ... but there was a bit of a commotion with removal from the oven (I should have put it on a tray) and I dumped it.

All that cheesy goodness on the bottom of the oven.. fuckola. My mouth just watered... I'm going to salvage some of it.

The photoessay is as follows...

mountain of cheese on the floor of the oven - should have been eaten... (I just salvaged some off the top - tasty!)
http://www.geocities.com/czmzozrzi/goo1.jpg
Look at this lone pepperoni - it should have been on the pizza - I had to eat it off the oven... still pretty good.
http://www.geocities.com/czmzozrzi/pepperoni.jpg
Stupid no cheese in the center having pizza - still delicious. With cold Coke.
http://www.geocities.com/czmzozrzi/pizza.jpg
Stupid Ruby looking for some of it.
http://www.geocities.com/czmzozrzi/ruby.jpg
Dumb dumb Newmanski too.
http://www.geocities.com/czmzozrzi/newman.jpg
<br>
Overall - I'd say the tragedy now is... I don't have another.

If you have to get a store bought pizza...go for the DiGiorno rising crust stuff. I promise that it's the closest thing to "real" pizza that I've had from a box of frozen stuff. As for this mess...I am sorry.

I probably would have burned my tongue licking the cheese goodness off of the bottom of the oven. Especially when you are SO looking forward to it.

Sorry for your loss, man.

Wegman's pizza is fantastic. I fancy the Large Pizza with Meatballs, Ricotta, and Extra Sauce/Cheese. It's a comfort food.

Here is the #1 Pizza Stone on Amazon.com: http://www.amazon.com/Old-Stone-14-Inch-16-Inch-Baking/dp/B0000E1FDA

I also use this stone when making flatbread sammiches, or Pizza Pocket Sammiches.

The Wegman's store-brand pizza is self-rising crust and is just as good as DiGiorno's and will save you a few dollars.

Now I want a Weggie-pizza! DAMN YOU PAPERBAG!

Wegman's destroys Di'Giornos. I don't like Di'Giorno's crust formula.

Wegman's destroys Di'Giornos. I don't like Di'Giorno's crust formula.

We've found the DiGiorno's to be too salty and a smidge too chewy, so we stopped buying it.

Plus, the fact that it's sometimes $8 for one of those when I can get Wegman's for ... $4 ... makes a difference.

Chef Boyardee can eat a can of aids chicken noodle.

If I am forced to use canned sauce, and that is only if tomatoes are not within reach, I will use this:

New location, only 950.82 miles from here. Getting closer!

Stugots, you got a recipe for your pizza sauce? I'm suddenly craving a homemade pizza tonight.

Also, anyone got a quick easy recipe for a crust that doesn't involve hours of kneading and rising?

Paperbag, my condolences.

i have a recipe for both...here's a super easy dough recipe:
3 cups flour
1 thingy of rapid rise yeast
1tsp salt
1tsp sugar
i c hot water
mix the water, sugar and yeast dough in a large bowl, let it sit for 5 min.
add flour and salt, mix into a ball. let sit for an hour, covered and oiled. punch down and stretch to fit your size pan(s)..depending on how thick or thin you like it, this recipe can make 3 12 inch thin crust pies, or one deep dish pie.

the sauce is a little more tricky, since i eyeball all of the ingredients, i don't measure:
1 can of tomato sauce..i think the size i use is 12 ounce for 2 pizzas
italian seasoning...bout 1 to 1/2 TBSP
1 TBSP parm cheese
1/4 cup chopped onion
1 TBSP minced garlic
1 TBSP olive oil
1 tsp parsley
salt is optional..i personally don't use it. let it sit for an hour in the fridge, taste and add more italian seasoning if you like a stronger tasting sauce.
