Yo,

I'm a ham 'n' egger shit-eating son of a bitch (hund- I'm studying german!) If you ever wonder what CCC eats for lunch most days, feast your eyes on that sandvich on the cover of The Goombah Diet and add a coke.

I just want to know: what kinda healthier lunches you folks try and eat each day? I really need to find something better than what I've been doing.

For example: My vegan brother (who is 6 feet tall 150lbs) came over and he made this lovely broccoli rabe sandwhich with bits o' garlic olive oil. It was so healthy I felt sick the next day when I ordered some pizza and a can of pepsi.

i bring lunch from home, usually left overs from the dinner before. bringing lunch from home is great because you can pick the portion size before you leave when you are not hungry to make sure you do not over eat

I usually have fresh salsa and baked flour tortilla chips, or hummus and a pita cut into wedges.

I have two pieces of chicken breast (deli) on a whole wheat pita. Every goddamn day.
And an iced coffee from Starbucks with no sugar.
I'm fat and trying to lose weight. Lost 30 so far.
Generally, I eat every couple of hours. Keeps the metabolism going. Keeps the blood sugar drops to a minimum.

My brother fixed this up one day and I love taking these to work for lunch now:

Hummus
lettuce
tomato
cucumber
black olives
feta
on a wrap

delicious, and tyhat's coming from a hard core meat eater.....:blink:

I usually make extra every night for dinner and bring leftovers. Its easy and cost affective.

For too many years, lunch was my "bad time". Every week I would eat my weight in Big Macs, Cheesesteaks, White Mannas, fries and Cokes.
I have definitely switched it up.
My staples are now chicken or tuna salad on wheat, maybe a slice or 2, turkey sandwiches, etc. My heart thanks me.
Once a week I will get Cosmo's eggplant parm. At least it's a vegetable! And only 1 Coke a week now. I drink Poland Spring all day long.
Tomorrow is a bad day, I'm having Tub's Famous Meatloaf (leftover from tonight) on wheat, with ketchup. Leftover pasta is also a good one (if I don't have it for breakfast)
If i am stuck for lunch, when the kid goes for his bad lunch at BK, I'll ask for a side salad and a whopper Jr.

I also have a box of Cheerios, and a box of Quaker Oats at work for breakfast. Bacon and egg sammich every day will kill you.

I am an old guy with hbp and I eat a lot of salads and chicken and fish. I like to grill a bunch of chicken on weekends so during the week I use the chicken in salads or sandwich's, chicken and rice with lemon sauce, or grilled chicken tossed with pasta, olive oil and garlic.

Once you start eating like this experimentation is everything.

Fast food "restaurants" merely peddle product, very highly processed junk that is terrible for you. I used to eat far too many fast food burgers, still like them every now and then I admit:down:

Great sammich to have, and it is pretty healthy for you and gives great energy, is Peanut Butter, Honey, and Banana sammiches. Mad yummy.

Otherwise, I make Tuna and Pineapple Salsa sammiches on Whole Grain.

peanut butter on whole wheat and a bowl of fruit... they sell a large container of fruit salad in Sam's. fruit like what comes in a fruitcup at the diner. then a handful of almonds,,,nice!
