I get in this debate sometimes with all the idiots over rating tim tebow. The debate is, who would make a better pro QB, Tim Tebow or Pat White.
Now we arent sayin either one will be a good NFL QB, just who seems better set up for it.
I really have to say pat white. He has a better arm then Tebow, is faster then Tebow, and just seems not to be afraid of anything. Im watching this Rutgers game and he is just wingin the ball around. I dont see many college QBs throw like that. He isnt the most accurate QB, but neither is Tebow. Tebow is pretty much, to me, a slower pat white with less arm strength and a better team around him.
Shame that Pat White didnt decide to pitch at WV. Damn racist baseball coach

tebow is such an excellent athlete and is really learning how to be a better passer and he wants to be better,
if he passes first and runs second, and truely develops that element of his game and defines himself more like steve young then vince young then i think he will be a great player at the next level

Pat White will be a good returner/receiver/gadget play passer. Tim Tebow will be a decent construction worker.

Fullback. Maybe HB/TE à la Chris Cooley. The kid makes zero secondary reads, has a very average arm and a ridiculous Satchel Paige windup. Compound all of that to the fact that he was well regarded (and tested) as a borderline waterhead coming out of high school and plays in the ultimate gimmick offense. I wouldn't be shocked, but I wouldn't want the team I root for even thinking of drafting him as a QB on the first day of the draft.
My opinions of Tebow's prospects as a pro QB have not changed one iota.

they gave up 1 pick that escalates based on where they finish. And its not like Tebow is a lock first rounder. Also, they do allow things called trades in the NFL

it isnt based on where they finish
its based on how many games he starts

According to the NFL Network, if Favre takes 50 percent of total snaps with the Jets in 2008, the fourth-rounder becomes a third-round pick. If he gets 70 percent of the snaps and the Jets make the playoffs, it becomes a second-round pick; and if he gets 80 percent of snaps and the Jets make the Super Bowl, it becomes a first-round pick.
its based on snaps but it doesnt become a great pick until he also shows results. And still, its only 1 pick, out of a minimum 7 that each team starts with
I would say from what I have seen of White, he has the better chance of an NFL career. Tebow's reads and decision making I think would translate into concrete shoes and deer in the headlight eyes. Someone said H Back or TE, maybe, but no QB at the pro level.

i love white, but think he'll go either the db/wr or canada route.

Please make the playoffs and fail! Excellent!
That being said...I have never watched Pat White seriously and still believe he will be a better NFL QB than Tebow.
Tebow is the definition of a college quarterback only.
it isnt based on where they finish
its based on how many games he starts

Snoogans is right. Basically it's a third-rounder and becomes a 2nd rounder if they make the playoffs.
I won't even discuss the 1st round possibility, as that could destroy the universe.

well youe thread queston says who would be the better qb in the pro's
but in your post you say who's better set up to be a qb in the pro's
better qb = white
better set up = tebow
tebow will be drafted ahead of white and will prob get a chance to run a team first
i can see both becoming recievers eventually like matt jones

I don't see either one of them as Pro QB's....speaking hypothetically, White breaks down too much and gets injured too often, so in that case I would think Tebow's a better answer as a QB
I can see Tebow making a career as a TE...White could be the poor man's Antwaan Randle-El

again i said most likely neither would be. I didnt ask what you thought they would be. Based on their skills and abilities right now, who would be better as a pro QB. Thats what is asked here. Obviously they are both better suited for something else, thats not hte point

Read what I wrote....I said hypothetically Tebow would be a better QB because White gets hurt too often, so I answered your question

yea but this is based on abilities. Injuries can happen to anyone. Who do you think has better skills
Tebow could be a decent H-Back in an old Joe Gibbs offense.

Theyre dead even as far as I'm concerned skills wise as they are both running QB's in gimmicky offences, thats why I feel it comes down to being durable and avoiding injuries, of which Tebow has the edge in my opinion because he's bigger and hasn't really spent any time injured
But if I was forced to choose one as a hypothetical Pro QB, I'm always gonna take the guy who is 6 3 235 over the guy who is 6 2 185

If Pat White is 6'2" then I should be a NBA center. I met him at the USF/WVU media day last year, and he might be six feet even with boots on. I would guess more like 5'11". That being said, Tebow isn't nearly as big as you might think. More fat than tall, really.

I dont agree. White has a WAY better arm, and reads a defense WAY better. Just yesterday, on a few plays he actually looked like a QB. Holding up before the line, checkin down, waiting til the last moment to take off. Pat White has some skills man, i was surprised

i was just debating him vs Sam Bradford last night. Bradford seems more accurate and makes less mistakes, but daneils has better physical tools. They will both be pretty good, I think

Tebow is not going to make it in the NFL, hes not a pocket passer, never has been and has horrible reads. That is showing big time this year and I expect florida to lose 3-4 games because of it simply because their defense isnt there to bail them out when he fucks up like they were last year.

Charlie Ward never attempted the NFL. He went to the NBA. Tommy Frasier never got a chance in the NFL cause he had a blood clot in his leg and they wouldnt clear him to play.
The other 3 sucked though. Although I really do like Andre Ware doing commentary on the CFB games

Yeah I forgot about Frazier not being able. I was going more with the fact that none of the NFL teams thought Ward was worth it, and he said if im not in the first round, dont draft me.

its solely the first round thing. Someone definately would have taken Charlie Ward, just not in the first round. Mostly though, it was cause he was too frail.
Id take him back on the Knicks in a heartbeat. As much as I hated him, no one they got since him has done any better

Sadly, I would take him back as well. Oh someone would have grabbed him, but he wasn't going to amount to shit.
Seriously, rarely do any tof 5 QB's amount to anything. Most Heisman guys are surrounded by BCS teams, so they always look impressive

I bet you Eli could come in from the bullpen and get someone out, unlike the mets.
Also on Pat White, being he hasnt played baseball since sr year in HS, and yet he continues to be drafted every year, I would bet he ends up in baseball kinda like samarjdizxijaisfdjsifh from Notre Dame. White is a pitcher, and based on how he throws a football, I bet he has a gun

Yeah, I could def see it. He should go with baseball anyway. The odds of him making it to at least the bullpen are higher than him being a big time QB. And baseball gives a pitcher with heat many chances before he calls it quits. NFL, you dont get that many shots if you cant get it together
