Oh, and:

Punch-Out is set to include a two-player versus mode, though no online multiplayer functionality was mentioned right now.

Reads the release: "As in the single player mode, you'll want to land punches at the right moment to build up Star Punch points that translate into almighty haymakers! Landing and dodging blows in Head-to-Head mode also builds up a Giga Mac gauge. Once full, your fighter is ready to inflict some serious damage."

Nintendo also notes that characters Von Kaiser, King Hippo, Don Flamenco and trainer Doc Louis all return.

Punch-Out!! arrives May 18 on Wii.

Go get this fuckin' game if you own a Wii, it's fucking great. It may just be the latest MUST OWN game for a console.

I'm up to the Irish guy in the world circuit. There's only a couple new guys, the rest are classic fighters from the past games. Some old strategies with new twists of course.

And you work up a fuckin' sweat playing with the motion controller.

It's much easier to play old school NES-style. There's a significant delay when you punch using motion controls which can kill you in a game that's so reliant on quick reactions and timing like this one.

And after you beat the last Boxes and win all the titles there's a title defense mode and i'll just say you are in for quite a massive surprise in the first match.

Yea I know, I read you fight everyone again but harder and with brand new patterns. I have to beat the World Circuit 1st. Haven't had time to try it again. And I got there with the motion stuff so I'm at least going to try it like that before I go back to the controller.

You can flip the main controller part around and play with the directional + and the buttons if you want.

Sounds like you have to at harder levels so you don't get a punching delay, but it's fun to actually move your hands with the game!

You won't be disappointed. Unless you marathon play it, it's gonna have a long play life and for me, a very decent replay as you just pwn the old guys some more after you get good.

Plus it just looks awesome and it's nice to see all your favorite old skool Punchout! guys move more realistically, then actually speak.

i was as giddy as a brazilian rescue worker while playing this.
although, it may just be me, but i was having some issues rockin a hook. maybe i just didnt read the book enough.

characters are somewhat "hack", as stated before, but nonetheless its a shit load of fun.

ps- on the wii mote, push the lil button to the left of the "home" button between rounds. instead of doc giving you a man-rub, he stuffs his face with a chocolate bar, and suddenly you have energy.
