I've only seen them once, but my advice is do NOT step in the bright red liquid on the floor. It's puke.

After seeing them over 50 times I would go again, but it will be a completely different experience, just like it was after the first break up. It is not the same scene nor the same vibe any longer.

Oh I'm not complaining, I bought 2 hits for 5$ and when the guy squirted it on my tounge all I heard was "oops" and my tounge went numb.
Plus too me Phish and LSD go hand in hand.

It had to do with after the first break up when they got back together the scene became a bunch of drunken frat boys and long gone were the days of awesome parking lot parties, they were still there but the drunken frat boys just didnt understand what was going on and ruined alot of it.

I had to give up on Phish after an awful show in Camden where the crackheads were calling the preppy white kids "crackheads." Also the awful parking situation, terribly unenthusiasitc show and meatheads in the crowd. Hampton is a delightful venue though, I got wacked on Mescalin there in 97, good times.

I just dont get this point of view. Its almost cliche at this point to complain about anything this band does. If anything, the dreaded out wookies, doped out on whatever drug, ruined the "scene." But I still never cared. I probably went to around 70 shows since '94 and things inevitably had to change over that time. But preppy-type kids who emulate the Bob Weir look built the whole phish phenomenon. Going to shows was always about having a great time with my friends seeing our favorite band. I never cared what anyone else was doing.
A long time ago I complained about Allman Bros shows because of all the drunk frat boys getting in fights and shouting throughout the whole show...but I never noticed that at Phish. Every crowd for every band will have its share of tools.

every phish show I went to after 2000 had at least 2 fights on the lawn between frat boys and a lot bigger police presence at every show.
I will not complain what the actual band is doing I am complaining about the scene and the people who started going to the shows later on.

Hey, same sig pic, had to post. I used to hate it when Bobby would do his take a step forward, plant a foot and step back while jerking his head back rock star at the edge of the stage move, on a song like St. of Circumstance...I'm gonna go for it, fo' sho'
Myself, moved on to Yonder Mountain String Band, seeing them in Philly on 10/10 at the Electric Factory and sitting in will be Jon Fishman coincidentally enough
Same thing happened with the Dead, Other Ones tour was the worst ever. Zappa knew they're only in it for the money

"THIS WEEKEND'S ONSALES 02.01.09
We have heard from many fans regarding this past weekend's onsales, particularly the shows that went on sale via Live Nation's website. Many of you experienced extremely long wait times, error messages, and quite simply, an inability to get through and purchase tickets. Clearly, the system was unable to handle the extraordinary demand. We're very sensitive to making the process of getting Phish tickets as straightforward as possible. We apologize for any inconvenience and thank you for your continued support and patience."
Keep your shitty apology and bring back the Doniac Schvice. I remember when the hardest thing about getting Phish tix was going somewhere to get money orders.

Jones Beach was fucking great last night. There were plenty of tickets to be had for those without, and they were going well below face. Even on Ebay, I saw pairs going for less than $40.
Get out to see them, they are playing like they never broke up.

There are phan run webcasts popping up this summer via iphones broadcasting to ustream. It depends on the cell reception at the venues. The first leg of the tour worked well. So far, this leg hasn't had a good stream yet, but you can be sure that there will be several people trying.
Here (http://www.hoodstream.com) is the site where all the streams are being fed through.

what an awesome venue. there must have been twice as many people outside on the camp ground than in the venue. and everyone was so festive and having a blast.

I saw Hartford was great. MPP was shit. that was the night before the SPAC show. I was glad to see a bad set because I knew they would go all out on Sunday.
And they did. The place had an energy like I've rarely seen before at a show. It started to DOWNPOUR at 7:30 when the show was about to start. Luckily, I was in the 10th row.
So there was just such a vibe in the place. Then they come out and open with Llama.
I wanted to see Guyute, Chalkdust, and Golgi. Check, check and check.
1st set was fantastic. 2nd set was just ok, not bad. closed with Highway to Hell which was fun. Highlights were Rock & Roll and Guyute for me.
3 hours of just pure music. Nothing too out there jam wise which can sometime lose me. Incredible evening. Wish I could see 'em again now right away.

I did hartford, maryland, spac. Hartford was INSANE! Was sitting 5th row Fishman side and could not believe what they were busting out. If you take out the Middle of the Road song from the first set, you have an all time classic phish set. Merriweather was okay. Lots of new tunes. Had to walk like 1.5 miles to get to venue from where we parked. I really liked the Oh Sweet Nothing, Alaska and the Axilla/Sloth/Foam. SPAC was a really good show despite being drenched. But Hartford show was without a doubt one of the best shows Ive ever seen. I'll post my pics later.

Halloween for PHISH fans is great and this year was no exception...Like past years, PHISH used the 'musical costume' for their performance whereupon they cover another band's album in its entirety for the second of three sets for the night.
In 1994, it was THE WHITE ALBUM by the Beatles (they nailed it)
In 1995, it was QUADROPHENIA by the Who? (they nailed it)
In 1996, it was REMAIN IN LIGHT by The Talking Heads (they really nailed it)
In 1997, it was LOADED by Velvet underground (guess what, they nailed that too)
And they actually played DARK SIDE OF THE MOON once in Utah but it was not on Halloween and yeah, they nailed that as well.
Last night in Indio, California PHISH kept the streak going strong and played an absolute wonderful performance of EXILE ON MAINSTREET...you can download it form their web-site-----its so damn good and for nothing else, listen to the Torn-and-Frayed-----WOW!!!!!

They actually skipped the costume show in 1997, Loaded was played in Vegas in '98. The VERY next show was the infamous show at the E Center in Salt Lake City where they covered DSOTM during the Jimmy story part of Harpua.
The story I heard behind it all was that Trey was annoyed at the scene at Vegas. The arena was sold out and many wooks were ticketless outside. Plenty of folks in the show paid WAAAY too much to scalpers for the honor of being at the show. The very next show was not sold out at all. Supposedly it was half full, and Salt Lake City is not that far from Vegas. So the band decided to give the relatively few fans there a special treat...the DSOTM everyone was hoping the band would bust out at Vegas.

This festival was spectacular. The Exile set was incredible and I can definitely see a few of those songs becoming permanent rotation Phish songs. The montage leading up to Exile was so sweet too. Above all, the grounds were BY FAR the best Ive ever been to. Flat, green and dry with amazing views everywhere you looked. Eventhough I think I may have caught swine flu Festival 8 was totally worth the trip.
