My 30th Bday is New Years and I need help

I'm a loyal RnF listener and a long time lurker on this board, so I think you guys might have some decent input on this. I'm turning 30 on New Years Day and I want to have some kind of birthday party for once.

I know NYE sounds like a great time for a birthday, but it's been year after year of shitty parties in NYC bars packed with dbags. Think of it as turning 21 every year of your life.

I'm trying to find something in the tristate for 50-100 people and under $200/person that wont have us mixed in with throngs of amateurs, but will give us opportunities to hook up with people if we feel like it.

Any ideas?

I would try to see if you local Nights of Columbus or place like that , that can sell you the space

then you or who ever is setting up the party can cater it up, booze it up dj (if thats ur thing) it up

have an all out bash, then hire Mexicans the next day to clean the bitch up

My friends and I are pretty hard core partiers. Problem is, everyone thinks they are that night. And places are charging out the ass. I talked to Mohegan about blocking off like 20 rooms, and they told me if it were even possible it would still be over $300/room.

I was thinking about maybe a big house at Hunter, but I don't know anything about the bars around there.
