I just called and spoke to some chick in India who tell me i gotta pay to upgrade my service in order to get the Stern channel???
Is that right, or did something get lost in translation?
I thought as part of the merger, we subrscibers would get the benefit of these extra channels at no extra cost?
What a load of shit......

You get whats called the "Best of -insert satellite company you don't subscribe to here-" for an additional $4.00 per month

Well, $4.00/months is negligible (although it seems to violate anti-trust laws in some way), but this clown on the phone told me i had to pay $189 (or something like that) UP FRONT, not as part of a monthly payment.
Any help on this would help.....

Oh they have it structured so you can pay for a yr up front which is actually a certain % off. They have options for like 1,2, or 3 yrs. Tell them you want to stay on your quarterly play (12.99 a month, paid every 3 months) and add the best of sirus.

As I understand it, In order to get all of the Sirius channels, you'll have to pay for a whole separate sub. There was probably some kind of plan that involved that upfront $189, like maybe the upfront payment gives you some kind of discount over a 2 year sub or something). For $4 extra, you get the "best of Sirius" channels added to your XM sub.
Eventually, the two services will not be run as separate entities, and they will be implementing a la carte pricing so you can get the channels you want.

A La Carte radios will be in stores and services will be launched on October 6th. The cost to upgrade to the premium package will be only $4/month more.
