Writing is great, the animation is South Park-esque, but the voice acting is so amateurishly shitty at times that it's hard to ignore. I'll watch the season though. The only problem is that it follows the worst comedy show of all time - Little Britain, now with a minty American flavor.

I wasn't so into it, but not to the extent that I would say it sucks or never give it another chance.
My main problem is the story structure. Sure, Tim is in an awkward situation and humor ensues, but when you just go right to the joke without any kind of logical build up its really meaningless. If I can just put Tim in a room with a hooker so I can laugh when his GF walks in then I can have Tim dresses like Hitler and goes to his Jewish Boss' house, Tim's new best friend is a lion and uh oh his landlord is a gazelle, Tim shits his pants while kicking a field goal in the superbowl. You need some sort of plausibility to make the humor work.
I really hated Little Briton USA though.

i thought they said that he accidentally called her cuz he meant for a plumber. Or that was just an excuse and the reason why he was caught with a hooker was because he wanted to see a hooker. I gotta watch it again

I went to a screening of this a few weeks back and laughed my balls off. I love awkward humor. Its essentially 'Curb' but animated and it more awkward situations.
And the creator was there and he seemed like a really cool, funny guy so I hope it finds success.

He (and as far as we are meant to believe I guess) called an electrician and requested "come right now, back door action" Which is a total stretch. I think it's funny that thats the kind of wacky misunderstanding a "smart" show would use if it were doing a parody of a really base, lowest common denominator sitcom, but you can throw it out there as absurdity without the slightest sense of irony.
I really have nothing against unprovoked wackiness, but you have to go whole hog. The humor in this show is based in the uncomfortable, so it relies on our common and realistic social experiences for us to connect to it, but at the same time it seems to be employing completely unrealistic comedic devices.

For every awesome British comedy that comes along and bucks the sterotype of how bad British comedy is outside of Monty Python, you have something like LB that gleefully fulfills every negative preconception of how British comedy "sucks," yet somehow becomes insanely huge.

I don't think it was, I think that was the legitimate premise. The flip side is Tim got a hooker to cheat on his girlfriend on the day she was arriving home with her parents in tow. It's the life an times of Tim no the life and times of Anthony. If you don't like Tim the his 'oh gosh' tone wont work at all, and if your intro to the character is deadbeat gets caught in wreckless interracial infidelity you're not really going to root for him.

To me, if I cant like him then I cant laugh or be uncomfortable at his uncomfortable situations. You can't tell a story with no protagonist, and I guess thats essentially my problem with the show- it's not a story, its a series of jokes

but i understand the argument against the show
there is that show on now "Worst Week"...and its a guy that keeps getting into crazy illogical awkward situations with his girlfriend and her family. and the show is horrible and unfunny and impossible to relate to. I don't find that show funny at all.
but i find "tim" funny
I can't explain why i laugh at one and not the other..but thats the way it goes

i just think tim has the best "no". Like, when his boss is telling him what to do and he just goes "no"..makes me laugh so hard
i was laughing when the boss was going "keith is a good boy" and tim goes "hes not a good boy, you do realize this?"

i was so excited that jeff garlin did a guest voice, and the next week, bob sagat voiced a character. ok so im more excited about garlin, but its good for the show to get 'names'. actually i wonder if i've missed any other famous names cuz i only watch th credits if i thought i recognized someone.
