Ok so I've been starting to go to the gym for the past month and never used the showers there. I always waited until I got back to my dorm room. It was about a 20 second walk so wasn't a big deal.

However, recently I moved to a new dorm and the gym is 26 blocks away (which is good it's my warm up to walk there now). But I didn't want to wait and walk back another 26 blocks to shower and feel fresh, so today I decided to use the showers at the gym. There were no private stalls or anything. Just a giant prisonlike group shower place.

Honestly..... wasn't bad or awkward. Maybe cause I didn't wear my glasses and couldn't see anything but it wasn't anything gay feeling or strange. So whatever, from now on I'm using the shower and steam room at my gym.

So was wondering, do any of you?

My gym is really close to the gay area in the west village in NYC. It is a pretty small 24 hr gym. There are 2 shower stalls. I took my cue from the other dudes in the locker room that were taking showers. No unnecessary butt cracks showing.

reading this thread makes me appreciate growing up in Germany where nudity in the locker room, sauna or at a beach were normal. Nobody feels awkward or gay about it... I don't know why people here are such prudes yet are the biggest consumers of internet and other porn behind closed doors.
