here's the story for AM to spank to here and to summarize XP which was billed ast hte most secure version is apparently the most hack into-able that allow hackers to take control of the entire system and programs in other words giving the hacker full control of the machine running XP. A free patch is available at the Microsoft homepage.
Well just a careful warning for those of you with XP and a laugh for those anti-Microsoft. And note, I summarized the story without posting the whole thing.

I got the patch.
Seems like every week I gotta download something for this XP. I'm gonna kick Gates in the nuts.

What! Microsoft release a defective product! No way! Next you'll tell me their unstopable behemoth monopoly poised to take over the world.

oh brother...im so tired of people complaining about microsoft...they put out great products, make patches extremely accessible, and respond to security flaws within a 2-3 week turnaround. That's impressive for a multi-billion dollar conglomerate.
All code is inevitably flawed. It's written by people. Every operating system I know has endured some degree of insecurity from hackers. No system is secure, I'm telling you. Just back up your data and you'll be fine.

Too often, companies ship products as complete, and use the public to beta test. Game companies seem to be the most guilty of this.
If Microsoft wasn't the monopoly it would have to be another company just like them. Can you imagine the horrors of 20 different operating systems? We all benefit from a single OS standard.
However, while there have been many rave reviews of XP, there have been many who experienced problems right out of the box. Products should not be shipped until complete.

I bash MS because there are far superior products. They try to monopolize everything they can get their hands on. And are a horribly insecure product. Sure nothing is totally secure but MS doesn't even think about security. Funny thing is MS wants the press to keep these holes secret so they can fix them but they never do anything till the press does something.
