The movie quiz with Paul O. at the beginning of Thursday's show got me thinking. Is it a better quality to have a general knowledge of a large number of movies, or to know a couple of movies inside and out? I really didn't become a film person until about 2 years ago, and there are so many movies that have been brought up on the show that my Netflix queue is near 200 and I haven't re-watched a movie in a long time. I've seen some great movies, but I don't know if I could answer basic questions about them. For example, I saw Mean Streets a few weeks ago, loved it, but couldn't tell you Harvey Kietel's name in the movie. Other movies from my childhood like Big Lebowski and Clerks I can almost recite from memory. Which type of movie "expert" are you, and which do you think is a better quality to possess?
