ok i was just watching "Demolition Man" on cinemax ondemand. I have some observations

First of all, its a really good movie. It couldn't be more fun...Wesley Snipes is a great villain, Sandra Bullock never been hotter, and it has some funny stuff in it (like the 3 seashell gimmick and the way they get a ticket whenever they curse). Also, check out Jack Black as an extra with a gun (it really is him, i looked it up on imdb)

Second, the movie is fucking stupid. I can look past some silliness...like the fact that Los Angeles is this post apocalyptic wasteland of 1996. But how come..if Stallone was frozen for only 32 years, they act like hes some Neanderthal caveman that can't be trusted? its only 32 years. How come they never have him find his daughter - was Sandra Bullock suppose to be his daughter but script rewrites made. Even the whole thing of freezing prisoners for crimes is stupid...why give them that gift of being young in the future? It doesnt make any sense

anyway..thats "Demolition Man"..i still think its one of Stallone's best

Demolition Man is a good movie, and just silly fun. A popcorn movie. I don't think it's stallone's BEST... Tango and Cash is definitely better.

Although I do agree about Bullock. She has NEVER been hotter in any other movie.

The best thing about the movie is the Kreskin like prediction of the upcoming 'fast food wars'. I've got in early with Taco Bell at 5 to 2 to takeover all and was able to tease a 7 layer burrito teaser down to 5 layers giving 1 breadstick to Pizza Hut.

Ahem...see Fire On the Amazon...actually dont. Just find the sex scene.

I like the part in Demolition Man where Stallone unleashes obscenities to get enough tickets to wipe his ass with.

the "3 seashell" thing is hilarious...but it does annoy me that the "ticket for cursing" thing goes in and out throughout the movie

If you listen to the background announcements in the early prison scene, the loudspeaker mentions prisoner "Scott Peterson".

I guess I know where they transferred him after he did his wife and kid.

Goddamn Taco Bell. There's the REAL underlying rot to that society.

And seriously, can we fastforward to where wearing robes in public is fashionable in the west? That shit looks so comfortable.

I'm confused. Are we debating the realism of a Stallone movie?

Great movie. I'll watch it every time it's on.

Denis Leary stunk though.

They nailed how political correctness and mandated safety has been taking over pretty well, too.

Did they?

Did they?
They did it with robes on as a matter of fact. Too bad they missed the boat on the Jeffery Dahmer thing.

God, robes fucking RULE.

Big negative to this film? Rob Schneider. How has that untalented schmuck been getting steady work for like 15 years now? His continued career just makes Entourage look even stupider...if Rob Schneider can get work year after year, don't give me this crap that Vince's career might be over.
