A: This board members' wife will soon be appearing on the TV game show "Jeopardy".
Q: Who is Jujubees?
That's right, my lovely wife will be a contestant on Jeopardy. She's flying out to LA on Monday and they tape on Tuesday and Wednesday.
She took the online test last spring, after one of her former college roommates was on the show. They called her over the summer to go to an audition in Manhattan and a few weeks ago called her to invite her on the show.
I'll bump this thread when I find out what day the show will air so all you guys can watch and wonder to yourself, "How did a dork like Jujubees get a smart babe like that?" (of course, she can't be too smart if she married me)

Awesome! Best of luck to her.
See if she can use Cliff Clavin's response to Final Jeopardy even if it doesn't fit the answer.

I mentioned that to her. I also told her that in no way (if she doesn't know the final jeopoary question) is she to write my name on the screen. Her college roommate won her first game but lost in the second game and didn't know the final jeopardy question so put her boyfriend's name up.

Sorry Matty,
I was going to post this the day your wife reminded you that you caused her to mess-up her on-line test but figured I'd wait.

It's actually OK, because that night was the impetus that we realized that we needed to get a bigger place so we had our own space.
Of course, now we need her to go on Jeopardy! so we can afford it.
Funny how that works.

I don't know about the on-line test but my friend and co-worker, who we all thought was a genius, turns out he's stupid, took the test at a Jeopardy try-out held at a fancy hotel here and he gave us the low-down on it. Apparently they don't start you off with easy questions and work your way up, all they did was give him 50 of the toughest questions known to man. He got 15 min. to do it. If you answer a certain amount, your considered, if you dont, they kick you to the curb. He's a engineer w/ a PHD and he thinks he got 6 right. Stupid ass.

I also took the live test at a hotel in Manhattan, years ago, being that I'm the "smart" guy at work who does well playing against the tv.
50 questions. I'd say 35 really hard ones that only college gah-ga-gumates could even consider. and maybe 15 pop culture/arts-sciences questions.
Questions I thought I had a good guess: 10
Questions I didnt understand what they were talking about at all: 25
Questions I wrote something related to the question knowing it wasnt the answer: 15.
So, Congrats to the Mrs, JuJu, cause it's a hard ass test! I'm insanely jealous.
Good Luck!!!!

"what is your moms box" is the perfect final jeopary answer, or the answer to the last question if she knows that she's not making final jeopary.

I believe so, and had we advanced to the show (or even passed in my case), we wouldve gone up against Ken Jennings.... sooooooo.....

Jennings was beatable. And I like Mormons much better than other door-to-door evangelists. They're more polite and very clean.
GAZ posted the video and that's what I was thinking about doing after Freakshow posted the line ... but I was too slow.

3) Are you given study material, or do they narrow down areas they will ask?

1) Yes, they take the two minute commercial breaks and Alex talks with the audience and contestants during the break.
2) Edith said he's very nice, down-to-earth. He has a son who is a senior in college and is thinking about coming to Fordham and when Alex saw that Edith teaches at Fordham they spoke a lot about the school.
3) No study materials or narrowing down the field. Edith picked up a lot of general knowledge books at the library.
The toughest thing was that they shoot five shows a day and Edith wasn't selected until the fifth show so she sat around all day waiting.
