She writes on her Myspace blog just how much she hates the haters:
I may have won 19 awards that you don't feel I earned, but it's neither original nor relevant to slag on Juno. Really. And you're not some bold, singular voice of dissent, You are exactly like everyone else in your zeitgeisty-demo-lifestyle pod. You are even like me. (I, too, loved Arrested Development! Aren't we a pretty pair of cultural mavericks? Hey, let's go bitch about how Black Kids are overrated!)
I'm sorry that while you were shooting your failed opus at Tisch, I was jamming toxic silicon toys up my ass for money. I get why you're bitter. I took exactly one film class in college and-- with the curious exception of the Douglas Sirk unit—it bored the shit out of me. I also once got busted for loudly crinkling a bag of Jujubes during a classroom screening of Vivre Sa Vie. I don't deserve to be here. We've established that. But I'm here. Five million 12-year-olds think I'm Buck Henry. Accept it.
(Incidentally, if you were me for one day you'd crumble like fucking Stilton. I am better at this than you. You're not strong enough, Film_Fan78. Trust me.)
I'm sorry to all those violent, semi-literate fanboys who hate me for befriending their heroes. I can't help it if your favorite writer, actor, director, or talk show host likes me. Maybe you would too, if we actually met.
I know my name is fake and that it annoys you. What, do you hate Queen Latifah and Rip Torn, too? Writers and entertainers have been using pseudonyms for years. Chances are, you're spewing bile under an assumed screen name yourself. I'm sorry if you think I'm like some inked-up quasi-Suicide Girl derby cunt from 2002, but I like my fake name. It's engraved on an Oscar. Yours isn't.
Listen: I've been telling stories my whole life. Even when I was a phone sex operator, I was the Mark Twain of extemporaneous jerk-off fiction. I took every perspiring creep on a fucking journey. I don't know how to do anything else.

Holy fuck, could she cram any MORE pompous and obscure references in that diatribe? She's like Dennis Miller with a used-up twat.
I mean... a Stilton reference? Really? How pretentious.

He's jealous that Gaz' was much funnier.
This is probably the best thing she's ever written. I enjoyed Juno, but it doesn't really scream of a writer who is going to able to branch out much since basically every character in the film has the same "voice." I think a lot of people try REALLY hard to hate the film as opposed to just not liking it. That said, her book is awful...who basically makes an alt.porn memoir about stripping THAT boring? And man, all of the mgazine pieces I've read by her sound like a high school newspaper editorial. Gag.

I thought Juno was pretty overrated, but I don't really have a problem with her blog. It's probably not fun being on the other side of internet hipster criticism, and I think she handled herself in a fairly classy manner.

Would you jam toxic silicon toys up your ass for one of these?
I think that lashing out against the film school hipsters is fine. Who cares. But there are other people that have a right to be offended by this kind of haughty bitching from a cultural scavenger.
Vanessa from Best in Show (http://www.bestinshowradio.com/download.html) had a great point about Cody's stripping book. She said, "I stripped too, but I did it to make money and get by, not as a school project."

Juno was OK (not great), but I think credit for that comes from Ellen Page's performance and the direction. In other hands, that screenplay would have just been a clunker. Ellen Page did about as good as anyone could in turning Juno into a three-dimensional character, not a vessel for Cody's pop-culture references.

Juno was fine I'd wait to see what else she can do now that the pressure is on. I'm fine with her feelings toward the haters but why even bother addressing them? You just made "Film_Fan78" cream in his pants (unless that was just a generic user name she made up to address them all, I'm not a quick witted as she is)
Juno was a good story with some good actors in it (any movie with two people from Arrested Development should be good, except Hancock), the dialogue was stupid, but they dropped the annoying "Honest to Blog" shit pretty quickly (for the most part) in the movie (I don't know if it continued in her screenplay)
Not a huge fan of JUNO, but I didn't hate it - the "hissy fit" is awesome, though. I snorted at the Buck Henry line (I loved him on SNL in THE day, but his true art was on "Get Smart").

Someone on the internet is calling her names? What a devastating and unique scenario. Seriously, I'm never going to side with someone who will tick off their own accolades like that. Other sure signs of assholedom? "She posted it on her own Myspace page."
Get over yourself honey, no good author is happy to let themselves be more recognizable than their work, and that rockabilly shit is what chubby/ugly punk girls do when tight jeans are in.

Hey, I'm not saying she's not annoying and overrated as hell, but it's not like she went out of her way to get this thing out there. She posted it on the site where people have been wasting their time the most attacking her for, again, simply writing a screenplay. In response, she wrote like two paragraphs and posted it on her MySpace page because she was sick of it. Am I missing somthing as to how this is so reprehensible and why we should get worked up over it?

I've heard Juno derided for being this "caricature" of youth so to speak, but at least in my view, I found it to be terribly skewed in terms of gender. Every single male character in the movie is an immature goofball/buffoonish type, and every single female character is bright/smart/courageous. Shows lack of depth in the writing that way I guess.
Really don't have a beef with it...it was decent, but not something I'm going to hype as incredibly amazing and life changing. As far as her rant goes, good for her. Well within her rights to stand up for her craft and defend it.
I did enjoy the Buck Henry line.
