I have a Bank of America VISA and i have amassed 25,000 points. I earned a point for every dollar i spent over the last 5 years.
I can cash those points in for $250 dollars cash.
That means they give me a penny for every dollar i spent.
Does anyone have a card that gives them better rewards??

some may give you a higher cash back but the interest rates may be higher and you make out better with a lower reward.
there are sites where you can compare what is out there, this (http://www.creditcards.com/cash-back.php) being one of them.

1 penny per dollar sounds about right

I got an American Express Gold Card about a year ago. The deal was that the annual fee was waived the first year and they gave me 50,000 points free with my first purchase. I only used it a few times, got the points and traded them in for a Sony Handicam. Then I canceled the card before the second year started when I would have gotten charged a $150.00 annual fee. Life is good.

A friend at work told me about this Discover promotion - sign up for a Discover Card and after the first time you use it they'll have Amazon send you a free GPS unit.

He has already received the GPS; I've gotten an e-mail notice that mine will be sent. I didn't see any loopholes in the deal but we'll wait and see.
Other than that I also have the American Express points deal as well. Generally, your best return is either turning them into miles on an affiliated airline (or credits on a hotel) or trade them in for gift certificates from participating stores. If you "buy" electronics, etc. you usually get a worse deal.
I've got a decent sized pile of the Amex points built up - not quite enough yet for a "Vroom, vroom" from Lily but more than enough for some bjs from Dave (based on the prices set on Thursday's show). I think I'll hold off on cashing them in for now though.

I just wanted to thank Recyclerz and let everyone know that my Garmin GPS arrived today - so this is definitely not a scam. You just sign up for the Discover Card, which has no annual fee anyway, and once you use it the first time they'll send you the GPS. There's no minimum charge or anything. I only charged like $15.00 at a pumpkin farm. I'm gonna sign up my wife and parents and load up on GPS's.

I have an Amazon.com credit card that adds up points and for every 2,500 I get a $25 Amazon gift certificate--usually one every 2-3 months. Since I pay my credit card off in full every month it's free $$ to spend at a place I order from all the time anyway.

We have gotten tons o' shit w/ AMEX points. We use them to get Home Depot gift cards. But we also put EVERYTHING on AMEX and pay it off every month, so we get a lot of points that way.

Glad to be of help. I'm not sure how Discover makes out in this deal but I guess that is for them to figure out.
Oh yeah, one loophole I did notice in the fine print is that you must keep your Xmas lights up until the Ides of March. A small price to pay I'm sure you'll agree.

My wife came with a Discover card that offers gift cards for similar to the Amazon deal. We put all our home improvements on the card and the gift cards go for presents and whatnot.

Cool site, thanks for posting it.
I have used these cards for TONS of free shit as I have the Starwood Pref card for personal use and Amex Corp for work. The work card gets tagged for about 100k per year, and the personal gets hit at 30-35k as well due to the hockey teams I run/pay for up front and collect for later. I've done a lot of what Missy and Jeff have done with the rewards (home depot cards and more with the Amex and Carib vacations with the Starwood). It's all good too bc I run no debt as I also pay my personal card off monthly.
I may have to check out the GPS deal. Anyone know the true value of the unit they give out?? I know what they list it at, but is it sold in stores at a cut rate?

This is slightly off topic, but what the hell. I have a Paypal Master Card debit card that pays something like 1.5% cash back whenever I used it as "credit", instead of "debit". Fucking Wal Mart automatically runs it through as debit, so they don't have to pay service charges. No other store does it, that I've experienced. I read once that Master Card and Visa says that a retailer is violating the terms of agreement, if they don't allow a card of theirs to be used the same everywhere, but Wal Mart still gets away with it.
What assholes!:furious:

Strange enough, the price on the offer site seemingly list it too low. I'm not too sure what this means, but I assume it's an old model or something bc I assumed Discover would overstate the value with the starting retail cost.
Am I wrong, but it's listed on Garmin at $399.99, at Best Buy for $349.99 and on the Discover site at $169.99.
Odd.

I have the box in front of me right now. It's a Garmin Nuvi 200 (even though the offer states 270 - not sure what the difference is.) I checked the Best Buy site and its selling for $149.99. The 270 model is listed as $349.99. So, Discover got the value about right but got the model wrong I guess. I guess I could complain that I was promised a 270 but I doubt I'd get anywhere.

If the offer stated it was the 270, and they didn't later add a disclaimer about a mistaken ad, they should have to pay up.
