We talked about this a bit on the O&A show today. It ain't no myth.

What happens is that this fish will swim toward a heat gradient (or it may be a urea gradient, who cares, it's still awful). Urinate in the water and SPLOOOP! it swims right up the ol' urethra. Of course, its fins keep it from sliding back out, so it gets stuck. Here's what one looks like after it's been surgically removed:

Ok, I found one article in the journal UROLOGY from 1973 that stated that the Candiru Catfish is "urinophilic" meaning it "loves urine". So JPMNICK was correct, nicely done.

urine is full of "electrolytes" and as such is a modest conductor of electricity. if your feet are grounded and you piss on an ungrounded high voltage source (unlikely, but still...) prepare to have electrons flow up the piss stream into the ol' cockhole. Fortunately this will cause severe spasm of the bladder sphincter, cutting of the flow of urine and electrons. Therefore it's a self-limited thing but still would be most unpleasant.
