Need I say more?!? Probably not, but I'll continue. Went there on Saturday night with my girlfriends and we were rejected without remorse. Was it because they were full? Um... in a sense, I guess you could say that. I guess they had reached their quota of "colored folks". This was my first, and hopefully, last time experiencing racism in New York City. Needless to say, this establishment will never get my business or the business of my friends. Hopefully, within the year this place will be out of business.

Katja, I'm reading a lot of the reviews. According to these reviews the door policy is very strict and superficial. Alot of these reviewers seemed to be turned away based on gender,weight,dress, and race.

someone said something about bars across the street but i was there last night and it looked like everything on that block is going to be the same kind of place as suzie wongs. there are no casual bars in the immediate area, but there's always options.

for anyone looking for a pre-party, i dont know of any, but i think sheepy and i are going to watch the phillies game at Chelsea Brewing Company and anyone is welcome to tag along. Its at Chelsea Piers which is about 8ish blocks away-- probably around 6:30 or 7 or so. They have good cheap bar food, great beers, and an outdoor deck where you can eat drink and smoke if the weather doesn't suck. Then we'll head over to the gig about 8:45 ish.

I have never thrown a party here before, and I been in the business long enough to know reviews are only pretty much the bad press from angry patrons, I dont expect much, although you can sometimes learn little about the venues that way, I went with my personal experiences going there with my brother, and the recomendation of the Boys at Mob Candy. They are certainly NOT racist! Mob Candy have been there and one of the co-founders is black. The lady who I have been dealing with has been nothing but sweet and assured me they are not racists.

After reading this thread, I went and called her at 11pm at night to bring up some of your concerns (which were some of mine as well when I first paid for the party). I didnt really feel the need to have to defend myself since this dress code has been already discussed on the show and I also posted Casual neat. I'm certianly not going to blame myself if ppl come dressed innapropriately and get turned away. I was told sneakers and jeans are fine as long its a decent shirt and they arent a slob. They have thier own doorman, but me and Frenchy and the hostess will be there to ensure all goes as smooth as possible.

Please understand, I have a ML gathering every 2 years to give back to my players. And in the last 2 I wanted to also invite ALL of the fans of the community to "share" with us a good time. Mostly because the boards and Ron and Fez and O and A are good to Mafialife, and weve been friends for years. I wanted to try something "different" then the usual bar crawl this time, so I picked a classy place in chelsea to host my party. If your coming, just come on your best behavior, and wear casual neat clothing. Please dont wear hoodies or sloppy tshirts. Like I said, I'll be at the door to combat any issues that may arise. I paid big money here. I do not want them throwing my money at my face and telling me to take my friends and go home because ppl are dissrespectfull. MANY mafialife players are travelling form all over the world to be here to hang with us all. They are now HUGE fans of the show for many years.

nobody is pissing on it... they were valid concerns and as long as they are addressed and everybody is on the same page and knows how to dress... then all is good.
Some don't live in the city and drive from pretty far to be there... it would be stupid if ya get turned away at the door for something that could have easily been changed.


I for one didn't hear the part on the show where it was mentioned cause I tend to tune out when Chris calls (sorry) and "casual neat" is not dressy.
