Is it true that more doctors smoke Camels than any other cigarette?

Dude, when I was a resident in the 80s, doctors still smoked in the hospital. We had one old school guy who would smoke while MAKING ROUNDS IN THE HOSPITAL and would stomp out his cigs on the floor of the nursing station (and this was just 10 years ago).
Prior to that, if you look at a lot of the old commercials and stuff, there were all kinds of instances in the media where doctors (and everyone else) were just smoking their heads off. Tee Vee shows, movies, etc.
I love how on the new Battlestar Galactica, ol' Doc Caudle is the only person on the show who smokes. I'd love to use his photo as my avatar on this forum, but I can't find it anywhere! Anyway...
I used to smoke in my call room in the resident's lounge. It was JUST getting to the place where it was starting to be inappropriate at that time. Now it's against policy to allow smoking anywhere on hospital property. You still see people across the street on public property smoking, or smoking in their cars (which, as a really enclosed space is even WORSE).
Amazing how things have changed. That ad really made me laugh.
your pal,
steve
PS: that "T Zone" depicts perfectly the areas where we see the most squamous cell head-n-neck cancer from smoking. Just sayin'...
I've gotten into watching "Mad Men".
It's amazing to think how prevalent cigarettes were, and they of course had the doctor smoke while doing an exam.

A few weeks ago I watched "The Bad and the Beautiful" on TCM. Kirk Douglas, Lana Turner etc and I was really taken aback by all the on screen smoking. It was constant and it was in every scene, mostly cigarettes and pipes.
And yeah I smoked cigarettes for a long time and quit 20 years ago. I really didn't miss it but kept the habits like slapping my shirt pocket whenever the phone rang or whenever I started the car.
I have a weekend place in an older downtown highrise in Atlanta. The maintenance crew just took out the stainless steel swing-top ashtrays on the wall between the elevator doors. It was strange not having them even though none had been used in years.

it's been a good show- they took the premise of Ad men in 1960 and added twists.
One of the accounts is Lucky's so everyone in the office has to smoke.
multiple episodes, including discussion on anti-smoking legislation
funny scene- when they had a meeting with the chairman of Lucky Strike (played by the great actor John Cullum) coughs, everyone else coughs -to kiss up.
Show also features Christina Hendricks as the buxom secretary.

Yeah, those things are real too. Not claiming to have touched them, but blaming her for summer school. She sat next to me in 9th grade english, in Fezzy's adopted hometown of Fairfax, Va. She's had a chest like that since then. Stared at some serious side tit all day long.

That would have been an "F" for me in English. I sat behind and to the left of the biggest boob girl in school in 8th grade science class in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Got in all kinds of trouble during sleeveless season, not paying attention in class, if you catch my drift.
