Ordinarily I am really good at long distance walking and used to have a job here I walked ten mils a day. While I am not in anywhere near that shape anymore, I know I am capable of walking at least 6 miles in a pinch.
Yesterday I was at the beach and had on those water socks, and walked along a typical north shore of Long Island beach for about 3 miles. I was really struggling as I went, what with the resistance of the sand, the ill fitting footwear and the steep angle of the sand, I felt completely out of whack. I decided to walk the three miles back along the street that ran along that stretch of coast. It was easier on the pavement, but again the footwear failed me and I suffered.
I slept great last night, but today.. OH MY GOD!
I was in such agony at work I decided to bang out half a day and go home and rest. I have been icing my ankles periodically, staying off my feet and trying to elevate them.
I have some celebrex, and some exedrin if I need it.
Anyone have any remedies?
