I dont think there has ever been a service that i was more thrilled with in my entire life. It is well worth the $350 you have to shell out. How do i love you? Lets count the ways.
FULL COVERAGE OF ALL NFL GAMES IN HD. That alone would be enough to make this whole shebang worth while...but wait there is more.
Multicoverage channel-- where you can watch all 8 games simultaneously in HD in very nice boxes. Even better-- each of these boxes has a beautiful banner with the game name, the score and the quarter and time displayed AT ALL TIMES in big readable text. This even stays displayed during commercials. Use your remote control arrow keys to swap out volumes instantly, and hit enter on your remote to bring any game full size. UNBELIEVABLY WORTH IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
On any channel you are watching you can bring up a side bar with all scores and stats of all games or just the games you care about, and you can instantly click on one to switch to that game.
Player tracker that lets you check the stats on your fantasy team with a click of a button.
Red Zone Channel that shows whatever team is close to scoring (i dont care about this channel it bores me)
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAND, if thats not enough........
YOU CAN ACCESS ANY GAME (except the multi channel) ON YOUR COMPUTER OR LAPTOP IN BEAUTIFUL CRISP PICTURE/SOUND WITH FULL STATS ON THE LEFT SIDE, AND HIGHLIGHTS ON THE RIGHT BANNER!!!!! MAGNIFICENT!!!! No add'l hardware needed for this, and what makes it even better than your sling is you can fire up this service w/o changing your tv channel so you can watch one channel on your tv and a sep one on your comp. OMG ITS POSITIVELY ORGASMIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
DUDE-- SIGN UP-- LOG ON! BUY DIRECT TV FOR THIS ALONE!!!!!!!! I AM IN LOVE!
BUT WAIT--- I ALMOST FORGOT THE BESTEST BESTEST PART!!!! After the games end you can watch and DVR a 20 minute version of any game where you see EVER PLAY. they take out the delays the stoppages and commercials. So after the fact you can watch entire games in less time than it takes to watch a Seinfeld episode!!!!!! HOLY CRAP!!!!!
Ok, i'll shut up now.
edit: here is the screencap for the supercast via computer...i'll upload a shot of the 8game screen later.

hack!
i was born in 1983..i never have heard the term "pussy" used legitimately as reference to a feline my whole life. The only time someone calls a cat a "pussy" is for the vagina innuendo
Im too poor to be able to afford that and even if I could the GF would kill me for not moving off the couch.
Im so jealous.

i to love the Ticket. each year i get it cheaper also. just cancel and let them call you to reup...this year i ended up getting the Superfan free(again) and got the renewal price, plus $10 off the next 12 months on my bill. i love it. so with the rebate it cost about $170.

I am without DirecTV for a few reasons...
1) My wife works from home, so we need cable internet service. Since we get a good deal on cable, her point is, why pay extra?
Our current cable bill, with internet, digital, HBO, HD, and DVR is about 130.
So I can't convince her to get DirecTV without upping our bill by at least 50 bucks.
It may work for Deb because she likes the Steelers, but my afternoons is usually taken up by the Jets and Giants.

the internet thing is a real issue. although verizon DSL is better. look into the pricing on that. but the sunday ticket will set you back a huge chunk so if $$ is an issue, its a tough battle.

yeah...if $$ is the deciding factor DirecTV these days can't really compete with the triple plays. it sucks we have to pay for HD...plus every receiver..and DVR. but i love the Sunday Ticket and the service overall. its worth the extra $40-$50 i have to pay. i only pay $60 for internet(FIOS) and phone anyway

Yeah, but you still have to buy the equipment and have a contract and all that malarkey.
Liz and I actually talked about it last night, but we're gonna wait til next year, or at the very least, the start of the NASCAR season.

Only thing keeping me from getting the directtv and hooking up the Ticket is my Jets season tickets. Seems like a waste when I can only use it half the season. Depending on how the new stadium shakes out, I may be in for 2010.

prob shouldnt have to do too much
all these companies are more about bringing in new customers then retaining its current customer base
so just the fact that you dont have them now, and want to get their service they should have good deals to get you on board

9 hours till sunday ticket time!
So this is pretty awesome if you have a PS3. (http://www.joystiq.com/2011/08/17/directv-teams-up-with-ps3-for-sunday-nfl-ticket/)
In addition to baseball and hockey, PS3 owners now have the opportunity to catch football games, streamed live through their console. The PlayStation Blog today announced a partnership with DIRECTV to offer the satellite television provider's popular NFL Sunday Ticket service, which allows individuals to view out-of-market football games.
Existing DIRECTV subscribers can access Sunday Ticket on the console for an additional $50 at the start of the season (on top of what they paid for Sunday Ticket, of course) and can use their console as an additional receiver. PS3 users looking to opt into NFL Sunday Ticket without a DIRECTV subscription will have to shell out a hefty $339.95. The PS3 will both show games in HD each week (up to 14) and display DIRECTV's Red Zone channel.
Really pricey but awesome to have the option. Even better if you already have DirecTV and a PS3.

To be honest, I get Giants, Jets, and Eagles games, plus the double header, plus Red Zone. So the question is... why pay 350?
I'd consider this if it was less expensive, but... No.

You're an out of market fan. You are the exact person DirecTV is marketing.
PapaBear

I never even understood what it meant to be an out of market fan until I was in my mid to late 20's. I always had my Skins available when I was growing up. When I moved to Western North Carolina in the early 90's, the Skins were still considered the local market team. Then the Panthers were created. I was happy the Carolina's had a team, until their first season started. I thought, "why the fuck aren't the Skins on TV anymore"!!!
It was for the best, though. That's when the Skins began their spiraling downfall.
