Any COD4 players around these parts?

I'm a huge fan and was addicted to COD4 when it came out last year. But after hearing that infinity ward lost the franchise rights, i kinda lost interest in the next installment World at War. That is until i saw this sneak peek... Jack Bauer Bitches!!!!

Infinity Ward didn't lose rights per se. Activision always had the rights and wanted to churn out more COD titles so they had Treyarch develop COD3 and this. there are rumors that all COD titles in the future will be Infinity Ward titles.

I played more COD4 than any grown man should. I got a little tired of it. It's still a great game and I'd love to see it improved. I'm sure I'll pick up the game unless it gets shitty reviews.

Veteran's Day. Hmmm... Not sure how I feel about that.

So, I'll wait ONE day before I buy this!

COD4 was the 1st game I played online much at all. And I still have an addiction.
I trust them and am looking forward to this one!

I think this looks very good, although I'm kind of disappointed that they didn't stick with a more contemporary timeline like in COD 4

It really does look good. I'm just not that excited to see them going back in time to WW2. I thought we were done with that and now we're back there again.

I'm gonna miss the weapons too. No scopes or silencers.
That flamethrowers looks sweet though.

I'm going straight to MP. I wanna' work on my prestige exclusively. I got really caught up in that whole thing on COD4 to the point that I made it into the top 5,000 in score even after everyone else had a month head start on me.

I'll go straight to MP too. Socom is driving me nuts, so I can't wait for a MP that actually works. The trailers look absolutely insane. If the servers crap out, i'll campaign.

I gave up on SOCOM, it just wasn't enjoyable. It took forever to throw a grenade, you would get caught on little rocks just walking around, and the gun would hit a wall even though the scope was aimed at someone's head. The servers lagged like crazy and I hated having to pick a server in order to get a game. Also, no upgrades.

I played for a week then gave up.

They did patch a lot of the initial problems and fix the servers. The scopes are fixed and it's a lot more stable, still I think they should have waited to release it. The next patch, out any day now, should make it a really good game. It seems like the developers are actually listening to the community.

I've been playing a lot because of the teamwork factor. COD4, you can just run off on your own, chuck a few blind grenades at certain spots, and just kill people with out regard for your own life . You'll never win a game in SOCOM if you do that, even in the respawn rooms. It's worth another look, if you bought it. Until the new patch is released it's not something I would recommend anyone buying though.

Have it for the 360. The Zombie Mode is something like Horde mode on Gears of War 2.

I liked the whole Modern Warfare thing, I dig the new weapons. 50 cal and Desert Eagle.

WW2 weapons, not nearly as cool.

I like it so far. I've played the campaign up through running the trenches with the flame thrower. The battles are more intense and really brutal. The dying soldiers are creepy, especially the ones burning alive.

I'd forgotten how well a MP game could be. The action in this is seamless, the people run and move naturally, and I haven't had any lag problems. I'm only at level 8 or 9, so I can't play anything but death matches yet. I'll fix that tonight.

I don't mind the WW2 weapons, since they take a little more skill to use. No more spray and pray with p90s. Shotguns are still bullshit, though. They should put you down with one blast.

Has anyone tried the co-op mode? That might be fun. I'd give it a shot if anyone's up for it.

Is anybody having problems today trying to play games online with World at War, or even COD4 for that matter?? All of a sudden, I can not get into anymore games on XBox live, yet I am still able to communicate with people when I send them messages...WTF Xbox?!

Didn't the same thing happened when COD4 came out or just after that Christmas. Too many people hopped online with it and brought pretty much everything down. All I can remember is that Microsoft game me a semi-shitty diving game free of charge.

Hell yeah...The highst I have gotten thus far with it is level 17 on that. Lots of fun. Double-barrelled shotgun, very effective.

As of the publication of this post, I have had the game less than 36 hours...I bought it late Friday night. Got turned onto the zombie thing by a friend...addicted now.

Nazi Zombie is amazing. It's better when you're with 3 other people. The diffuculty really amps up.

I made 11 the other day, but haven't really gotten far into it. It helps to have people that know what they are doing and the ray gun helps.

What's your strategy? I have opened up the other room after about 4 rounds, but I have never gone upstairs.

This is what I usually do; fight in the main room for 6 rounds, then open up the back room and only that room (that says "help?") and get the Double Barrell. Go into that room and stay in after round 9. There's a random weapon box in that room. That box also has the possibility of giving you a ray gun (which tears through them and it's 1-2 shot kill). But, have 2 people cover the back (windows and the hole in the wall) and have 2 cover the front (having the ray gun really helps) and pray for the best.

The mistake with making it that far was going upstairs...upstairs is a big pain in the ass. The furthest I ever made it was on the first night I played it...I have yet to reach that dragon since.
