What are some of your "Garbage" TV shows that you look forward to watching. You know they are bad and cheesy and really are "TV shows for dummies", but something about them brings joy to your life?
I love the show "I Love Money" on vh1. Basically they took a bunch of the folks from "I love NY" and "Flavor of Love" and have them compete in challenges. Its like "real world/road rules challenge" except the contestants are older and so much more desperate for fame. These are people that are basically playing fake characters so that they will stand out and vh1 will give them their very own reality show (like they did with New York). The show is cheesey and trashy and stupid, but I dvr it every week and look forward to it. I don't know why...i think its cheese to the point where its endearing to me.
I also have a soft spot for bad sitcoms. That show on CBS on monday nights where its the nerds and then a hot chick moves next door....i think its a great show! Its totally outdated sitcom and when you've had legitimately great "Comedy shows" that pushed the limit of tv comedies (like "Arrested Development") you really do feel embarrassed watching it. But its funny to me...its a group of nerds..AND A HOT CHICK! I dvr that shit too. I'll also watch "Til Death" on FOX (i dont dvr it though) even though I hated "Everyone loves raymond", "Til Death" has the same sort of cheese appeal

i can't sit through an episode of 'Everybody Loves Raymond" because it depresses me. I feel like Ray tries so hard to be a good man and his cunt wife just shits on him on every turn. "Til Death" makes me chuckle cuz both the man and the woman just shit on eachother and they both hate eachother and thats funny to me.
With "I Love Money"...its all about Toastee. Toastee is the hottest chick ever on any of those shows. And I saw those nude pics of her (i posted them on FBA..i dont know if i could find them again) and her "anatomy" couldn't be more perfect. Just a wonderful wonderful vagina on that girl

It seems like every new show I like gets the axe. I liked Drive and it only got through 3 episodes. I liked Firefly and it finished one season (I liked the movie too). Maybe it's a Nathan Fillon and Joss Wheldom thing, I dunno, and for some reason I like watching The Bachelorette with my gf because I like commenting on the stupidity of the show, but I would never watch it on my own.

I watch a lot of TV and a lot of what I watch is utter crap that I'm tricked into watching because I was tricked into watching the first few episodes, and now I have this obligation to finish the show in my mind.
I watch Prison Break, I used to watch Las Vegas which was unbearable because every chick is in a bikini and they never take them off. That show would have been the greatest show ever if it was on HBO or Showtime. Two and a Half Men is probably the worst thing to happen to TV comedies since ... well, since the previous run of horrible comedies, but for some reason I watch and hate myself for doing so.

I watch I Love Money... I like all those shows because they are gloriously awkward and the drama gets me all worked up.
New York Goes to Hollywood... this girl and her mother might just be the most self-obsessed, disgustingly foul, and ignorant people in the world... or at least on tv. This show makes me want to punch through my tv! Why do I watch? I kinda love it. I guess I love to hate it.
ABC Family airs Sabrina the Teenage Witch and I tivo it and I guess kind of look forward to it? :help: It's not like I am glued to the tv when it's on, I just put it in the background while I'm on the computer or looking for jobs or cleaning or whatever. It's simplicity relaxes me... that and the fact that there's always a happy ending. It's just a feel good thing for me. I also idolized Melissa Joan Hart back in my tween years (Clarissa Explains it All fan since day 1!) Same thing with what comes on after... What I Like About You... for some reason I like Amanda Bynes. She's an over-actor, but she always reminded me of myself a little bit and the interaction between her and Jenny Garth's character reminds me of me and my sister... and I find myself laughing to this show too. Out loud... :help::help:

i still watch "Saved By the Bell" repeats, but I turn it off if its "the college years" or a "Miss Bliss" episode
but as much as i LOVE "I Love Money", i can't watch "New York Goes to Hollywood". I feel the premise is too forced. I think I like the vh1 shows where theres a competition at the end of every episode too (like "Celebrity Fat Club"). Also, i feel like they are backtracking on NewYork being crazy, and trying to make her into an endearing underdog type character. Blah...i have no interest in NewYork anymore

If she was coming off like some sort of hero at the end of every episode, or if they were trying to make her out to be a likeable person I would agree with you 100%... but she's a HORRIBLE person... only surpassed by her mother...it's really what the whole show's about... her embarrassing herself and hopefully her career will go down in flames... and it's got the whole train-wreck affect.

Oh, totally. When I was a kid we lived in a one-story ranch and I thought it would be the height of cool to have an upstairs bedroom with a ladder up to the window. Or really, any kind of private entrance of your own that meant you didn't have to walk past the rest of the family. Not that my parents ever would have permitted such a thing, in retrospect. Most parents don't want their kids coming and going without being aware of it. But it would have been great!

 My mother works in safety and she would've had a heart attack even just thinking about a young girl going up and down a ladder willy nilly... Plus her cute boy best friend came and went whenever he wanted... I was NEVER allowed to have a boy in my bedroom as long as I lived in my parents' house... needless to say I was so jealous of Clarissa.
Her life was pretty awesome... she was creative, quirky, and funny... she was such a huge inspiration for me.

maybe, something about the show I can't really sit through it. It just doesn't have the same spirit as other "celeb reality" shows. I just hate the opening themesong montage where they show her dressed as Marylin Monroe and Forrest Gump..like "look, its New York, shes a fun loving all american girl"

Oh, I know - I never thought about it that way when I was a kid, but I bet a lot of parents looked at that show and thought, "Looks like a pedophile staircase to me!"
I also thought Clarissa was like the most amazing name a person could have, like, ever.

the thing about "real world/road rules challenge" is, when i was in high school and i put on MTV i was like "FUCK! I wanted to watch something good, but this shit is on!", nowadays, its the best thing on MTV...its funny how the shit turns
Also, i noticed there are people on Real World/Road Rules Challenge that are way into their 40s. Since MTV only hires 20year olds for their shows, it means that there are people who have made a good lifetime career for themselves being "that guy from that shitty reality show". You gotta respect that!

House - i just started watching this show, now that they're showing reruns on USA. it's terrible, but i can't stop watching! every episode is basically the same: someone gets sick with a mystery ailment in the first five minutes, then for the next 45 minutes, the doctors mis-diagnose what's wrong with the guy, then in the last 10 minutes, House comes up with the solution and saves the guy's life in the nick of time. oh, and throw in some House is an A-hole drug addict stuff in the middle.

It's formulaic as hell, but I actually really love that show and wouldn't have thought to call it bad despite that. I think the acting is fine even if the episode formula is predictable.
On a related note, while watching the first episode this season, my husband and I were discussing how funny it would if this lady who collapsed with her hallucinogenic bugs really did have just a simple vitamin deficiency, they gave her a shot, she gets better and goes home with any further incident, and the whole rest of the episode is about something completely different.

Horrible TV shows...
"Cheaters".
Same premise. Same level of exploitation.
Seen just about every episode. Kinda like the Jerry Springer of 2008.
